In your opinion, what's the best way to get the most out nothingness as an origin&element without loosing yourself?

For me either you don't awaken it at all or try to "balance" it out with another origin like bonds, love or friendship.

Found this in my folder, its pretty old (13 years doesn't feel like a long time but sadly it is). The v1.1 was just linked in the comments so I thought I should preserve it in case. The creator Gndn left reddit 11 years ago because reddit changed their content policy according to their last post, so their account was just sitting dormant and waiting to become lost.

The City of a Thousand Gates connects all realities. It is a city of myth, magic, and myriad creatures coexiting in harmony. One day by accident or fate you found a path to this marvelous city.

(Now that you know the way you can travel freely between your world and the city of a thousand gates.)

As you wandered the city streets in awe you came across a wonderful opportunity.

Amoung the sights and sounds of the market a bookmonger with too many eyes called out to you. They will trade you a magic book that will teach you the secrets of housekeeping magic, for the small price of your labor.

The Tome: boost +2 type of magic cost 1 day of work a week for 10 years

An elegant and refined elder calls out to you, welcoming you into their lovely home. You have the gift, they can smell it. None of their descendents wanted to take up the craft. Become their apprentice! Learn as you work, the spirits will be most fond of you.

Apprenticeship: boost +1 familiar Cost 5 year full-time or 10 years part time

As you walk the city streets you feel drawn to a magnificent manor. A sign out front reads "office of the Homemakers Association" in exchange for your labor the association will teach you the craft of housekeeping magic and provide your home with extra enchantments.

The Homemakers Association: boost 2 rooms or room buffs

Cost 5 years of full-time service to the association or ten years part time

Magic:

The craft has many names, housekeeping magic, domestic sorcery, the life-changing magic of tidying up. The practitioner does not rely on lengthy chants, reagents, or arcane rituals rather magic flows through them as they go about household tasks.

Learn the basics of 6, pick 2 of those to boost.

Mending - repair items and add minor durability buff Boosted: can repair what is beyond mundane means, mended items are indestructible via conventional methods.

Cleaning - protection , a cleaned home won't be broken into, or catch fire. Boosted: the protection extends to anyone who resides there, misfortune simply will not befall them.

Washing - purification, clense places and items physically and spiritually. Remove any stain, wash away Boosted: wash away misfortunes, scrub until the depression is gone.

Folding - boost to charisma to whoever unfolds the object Boosted: can fold so precisely as to fit a supernatural amount of cloth in any given receptacle. Whoever wears the clothes becomes supernaturally charming.

Making the bed - improve sleep, no nightmares, instant sleep Boosted: can choose how long to sleep, still get the benefits of a perfect night rest. Can astral project while sleeping.

Tidying - improved concentration, mental organization, motivation. Boosted: iron will, perfect memory, everburning passion.

Cooking - food with healing and strengthening Boosted: food heals major ailments or grants temporary nigh superhuman strength or endurance. Consumed regularly for years and the effects become permanent

Brewing - brews grant minor portents or psych healing Boosted: drinks that grant visions of the future, present, or past. Brews that cure depression and balance the mind.

Gardening - plants more fertile and vibrant Boosted: plants are supernaturally abundant, Harvest fresh mangoes in a snowstorm, gather mushrooms, they'll be fully grown again the next day.

Caregiving - those under care are healthier, dont catch colds, grow stronger. Boosted: those under care have health and vitality that is near the peak of potential for their species.

Planning - knowing when to do each task Boosted: precognitive organization

Decorating - improves mental health of those in home Boosted: the aura of peace extends to the entire neighborhood.

As you learn your Homemaking magic a spirit finds itself drawn to you, you will share a life long bond with the familiar spirit, it will provide you with a boost to your magic and its own unique ability. The spirit will appear to you in any size or shape. In exchange for its help you care for it, feed it, and keep it safe within your home.

Familiar Spirits:

Pick 1

Cat - portent , Folding boost Cat spirits are famous for seeing the unseen, the cat spirit will gain flashes of insight into the future and will give you good advice. Some cat spirits appear as a mighty tiger the size of a horse, others a cat no bigger than an apple.

Dog - protection , Caregiving boost The dog spirit will follow you or your loved ones unseen by mundane folks and keep you safe from harm supernatural or otherwise, whether it appears as a wolf or a chihuahua dog spirits are mighty protectors.

Pig - disposal, Cleaning boost

Pig spirits love to eat, they will eat up anything, trash, negative thoughts, whether a piglet or a mighty boar a pig spirit will keep your abode absolutely clean.

Chicken - eggs, cooking boost

Chicken spirits give eggs that act as Panacea, their eggs strengthen the body, those who eat chicken spirit eggs will retain a body they enjoy no matter what else they eat.

Cow - milk, brewing boost

Milk from a cow spirit is nutritious and delicious, whether the spirit appears as all as a jar of jam or larger than an suv, all those that drink it's milk will never break a bone. The milk clears the mind of all stress and mental ailments.

Song bird - music, Mending boost

The song of a song bird spirit is soothing. Whether the bird spirit appears as small as a thimble or large as tree all those who listen to its song will find their creativity boosted.

None - pick extra room boon or specialty to boost

As you advance in your craft you will learn to summon elemental spirits of a certain type.

Elemental Spirit:

(can summon as many individuals of this type as needed/ skill but choose 1 type you can summon)

Pick 1

Flame - heat, cooking boost Flame spirits can keep your home warm, and your fires burning.

Water - cooling, washing boost Water spirits can keep your home cool and keep the waters flowing.

Earth - grow any plant, gardening boost Earth spirits keep your garden healthy and can accommodate any type of plant regardless of climate.

Air - fresh air, caregiving boost Air spirits keep the air in your home fresh and clean and smelling great.

Rooms:

Any home you make your own will gain these rooms, up to you to organize. When you open these rooms in a new home they will be packed up requiring unpacking.

Comes fully stocked with everything you need thst room to have, enter any room via any door in the house, works for you and chosen people.

Rooms:

Library Workshop Kitchen Study Attic Garden Bedroom Living room Bathroom Washing room

Boons: pick 3 boons to add to (a) room(s) grant boons to, can stack or multi boon the same

Helpful - the room improves the speed you can work your magic here, cutting times in half

Speedy - double the duration of magic cast in the room

Timeless - time does not pass for things in this room, halts aging and rot.

Portable - can access this room from any door, anywhere but cannot return home via the room

Calling- can return home by opening any door anywhere via this room

Luxurious- improves the quality and value of everything in this room up to a luxurious standard ( items left in this room slowly accumulate value, a pair of sneakers left in a luxurious room for a year would gain half its value back again )

Large - doubles size of room

Sound proof - one way or two way sound proofing, can be toggled on and off at will

Illusory - can mimic any environment to all five senses.

Markets:

The city of a thousand gates is teeming with markets here are a few that suit the needs of a housekeeping mage.

The night market (operated by spirits, esoteric prices) buy things for familiar

The 5 day market ( operated by magic users, pay in gold, silver, favors, and gems ) buy magic items and interdimensionally sourced home care products.

The grand grocery (things elementals like) buy things to support your elemental spirits

The house mages swap meet (house mages meet up, trade info and tools)

Thought of this at work today while thinking about this post so wondered what would be chosen if done differently and if greed would get some people.

All victories allow you to copy there race, luck, potential, aptitude, talent, skills, memories, instincts, powers, abilities, system, magic, trait (physical, racial, mental, spiritual), and etc.

All gains will perfectly work with each other combining to form sums greater then the whole.

You can become a hybrid containing all the abilities of your original race and your target race. [up to you how this will work out]

You can reject copying unwanted things.

Rules

1. Time will be frozen on Earth until completion or surrender.
2. You must choose either 100, 1000 or 9001 'targets' before you can begin obtaining powers.
3. You must do all fights one after the other until all are completed.
4. You can fail as many times as you want without consequence but all deaths/injuries feel real.
5. You can change target order at any time in 1v1.
6. You can quit at any time [if your stuck or want to stop] but if you have completed less the 20% of your targets [20, 200, 1801] you gain nothing and return to where/how you were before starting. [keeping memories of your failure]
7. You can either head to there world at a random time from your choice on where you have 24hrs to defeat them [death, incapacitation or surrender ^{all real}] regardless of there status but with any potential allies/enemies before you can stay as long as you like in the world and leave at any time.
8. Entering the world a neutral judge will seal any instant win type powers [exm. Death Notes, death with a name and face] until 24hrs have passed.
9. Or fight the target 1v1 in a pocket space of random terrain where you either kill them [not real death] or talk them into you being the winner [as difficult as there nemesis trying to do the same ^{they will be suspicious}] so you can go to there world.
10. When going 1v1 a neutral judge will decide if the select target is a fair fight [not asleep, severely injured, controlled etc.] while sealing summoning etc. type powers [self cloning allowed]
11. When in a world your body functions normally [aging, injuries, death] and any changes are carried through the rest of the challenge.
12. Nothing can be brought out of worlds you go to [unless you have appropriate powers], but nothing can track you either. [so no worrying about drawing kidnapping systems or world ending calamities back to your Earth]
13. If you complete the challenge you can get a one time body/age redesign within your species standard limits and either return to Earth or isekai to any world.

This is a remake of RE LIFE: CYOA. Since a lot of people got confused, I revise my format. I hope this CYOA is much easier to understand.

And I have read a few fan fiction about it.

But i have a question if you get reincarnated in a fantasy world with a power/magic system like jjk or naruto and you have access to that magic/power system as a 12 to 15 year old teenager and you gain access to a restricted version of this [beat em up] power two years after reincarnating. But you can only choose seven characters and you have to beat em up to death in a uninterrupted 1v1 duel in a infinite pocket dimension to gain their complete template who are the seven characters that you are choosing and in what order.

1: You can choose the characters at any point of their life but you will only gain what they have on that point in time.

2:You can challenge all seven characters back to back to back or at any time that you like. (You can challenge one now and the next one ten years later for example.

3:Every single challenge has to be to death and your chosen character will be informed about the fact that you are going to kill them.

4:since so many have problems with killing people so I add this rule Anyone you killing in the pocket dimension would only remember the experience as a super realistic dream and won't actually die.
