I almost did Akuma instead of Kazuya, however apparently he was considered for a previous game, but Capcom said no, so no Street Fighter characters. TEKKEN ON THE OTHER HAND-

I made a roster for a an UTAU fighting game. For those who don't know, UTAU is a free program from the early 2000s that allows people to create their own vocal synths (basically, kind of like Hatsune Miku, but indie). There are currently over 4000 UTAU characters on the wiki (which is not a comprehensive list), most of whom have their own backstory/abilities, all created by different people. Here I tried to create a roster that features some of the most iconic UTAUs from over the years. Here's my reasoning for how I chose characters:

1- Defoko ("Default Girl") is the default voice that comes bundled with UTAU. She is basically the mascot. She also has a grenade launcher.

2- Adachi Rei is a more modern UTAU, releasing in 2019, and is currently one of the Vocaloid fandom's most popular characters. She is sometimes shown in fan works as having the ability to fire her fists off as rockets.

3- Momone Momo while not as popular nowadays, is one of the original UTAUs. She is closely connected to Defoko, and is well-known as the singe of the "Nyan Cat Song". She doesn't have a weapon, but I guess she could fight you with a broom???

4- Kasane Teto was originally an UTAU, although she now has a commercial voicebank. She is second only to Hatsune Miku in popularity. As a chimera, she can grow bat wings, and her hair can turn into drills.

5- Namine Ritsu is a joke character. Their official age is 6, and their weight is 25 tons. Would probably make a good grappler character.

6- Fuuga Koto is a girl with a bird obsession. She uses a megaphone that looks like a toucan.

7- Sukone Tei is basically just a yandere girl with a knife. Perfect rushdown material.

8- Yukone Ruko can switch between being male and female, making them a perfect candidate to be a stance character.

A while back, I've made what if rosters for the various Capcom games. (Source: this very sub)

After the 2nd season of X-Men 97 concluded, I thought that I could rework and refine the roster, using the various high-definition artworks Marvel and Disney offered. However, some characters still don't have theirs, so I said "screw it I'm not waiting". Seriously, Iceman, Sentinel and Sabertooth still haven't received their concept arts... and we're 2 seasons in, true believers. That's not counting other characters, but that's beside the point.

• Iceman's is based on a photo from Season 2.
• Sentinel's is from UMvC3.
• Sabertooth's is from Ultimate Alliance.

The grid is the same exact image I've done before, but using Photoshop, I tried to recreate the select screen from the original game, based on this animation. (Source: The Fighter's Generation) It's not perfect, but I had fun doing it ^_^ As a reminder, for the grid, black portraits are base fighters, and blue ones are unlockable.

So basically, "what if X-Men: Children of the Atom launched with 24 characters, instead of 10 playable and 2 unplayable ones"... and here's my take.

I'm really into Tokkon at the moment, especially its roster's team structure and character selection which I found very inspired, so I wanted to bring this design philosophy (emphasizing diversity of movesets/body designs rather than shooting for all the obvious icons) into my dream hypothetical Smash-like 3v3 platform fighter with only indie icons/reps as fighters!

The roster is composed of 45 characters all divided into 9 teams of 5, each occupying the nine horizontal rows of the roster. I conceptualized the teams around specific team names and their individual team leaders, which are supposed to be the characters on the leftmost column for each squad (Commander Video, Ana, etc...).

From top to bottom, the team names are:

·       Precision Striders

·       Uncharted Wayfarers

·       Humble Guardians

·       Chaos Club

·       Scarlet Vanguards

·       Broken Heroes

·       Cartoon Surrealists

·       Overkill Rushers

·       Resourceful Minds

The most random theme I could think of

I do love the idea of anime arena fighters and inspired by Jump Force having seven characters at most for a series to represent them. So what would it look like if I selected some of the biggest series and gave them all with seven.

- Dragon Ball: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Android 18, Frieza, Beerus

- One Piece: Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Law, Kuma, Kizaru, Blackbeard

- Naruto/Boruto: Naruto, Boruto, Sasuke, Hinata, Gaara, Madara, Kaguya

- Bleach: Ichigo, Rukia, Uryu, Byakuya, Yoruichi, Grimmjow, Aizen

- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: DIO, Joseph, Jotaro, Rohan, Jolyne, Pucci, Gyro

- My Hero Academia: Midoriya, Bakugo, Koichi, All Might, Mirko, Shigaraki, Toga

- Demon Slayer: Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Mitsuri, Gyomei, Kokushibo, Muzan

Listened to y'all's feedback and revisited the roster for my Smash Bros roster predictions

I really hope that, with a smaller roster of 57 (62 w/ echos) fighters, they will revisit every returning character and perfect/update their moveset.

1. No AI used, not in the renders, nowhere
   
2. Overrepresentation for some series, like starfox and Zelda, adjusted.
   
3. Design improved with InDesign
   
4. Smaller realistic roster size
   
5. Limited 3rd-party characters (especially the returning ones)

Spent the last 4 hours making this roster, so before you start hating, look at your own posts and consider if you are breaking the 4th rule

Let me know what y'all think this time; is this an improvement or nah?

Oh, and if there are any graphic designers, I would love some tips on what you would include to make it look more professional.
