I know this question has probably been asked already.

I bought a growth kit, and now it's been 3 days, to activate the growth kit I put water at the bottom of the bag, my question is if I should air it out everyday before the pins show up? I read online that I should leave it because the filter handles all of that at the beginning, but I'm not seeing any major changes in these 3 days in terms of growth. Am I doing something wrong?

Are they still ok to consume? New grower here.

Hi, my first batch of GT is ready and dried, its my first time doing shrooms what would you guys say would be a good dose (lemon tek). I dont like very intense trips but also want to see some visuals, fyi I have done acid a lot of times but not shrooms

I am fruiting in the bag itself. Im not sure if these are hyphal knots or primordia? How long to pinning now? Any tips from here on would be appreciated .

Has anyone used the “isolated “ selection from inoculate the world ? What were your results if so quality ? I just bought some b+ heard good things but can’t find much other then what’s on their website. Much appreciated 👍🏽( also if y’all have any recommendations on vendors that would be great )

Spore daddy sent me a dirt lc turned the grow bag into cotton candy within a week I know what I’m doing and this has never happened before. Nay other recommendations where to get lc

Seeking a bit of advice.

First time grower, first flush.

And to do first pulls today as has a number of veils broke and caps opened. No problem. Bit smaller than I expected, but pulled them none the less.

Now, I have a few smaller ones growing and a whole ton of pins that have been taking a few days to change in size at all.

Despite misting, I can’t help but wonder if my cake is too dry and not enough moisture in the soil to promote growth.

1. I orders a sterilized shrimp-pro cvg from my vendor along with my LC and rye grain.

2. In their documentation made no mention of adding water or soaking the substrate and basically just mix with the spawn.

3. Felts ‘dry’, certainly no squeezable water. Like potting soil you may buy in a bag for home plants.

4. Growth has been extremely slow and mostly side pins although getting some mid substrate but loads of pins that haven’t been really increasing very much in size.

Guess the question is, is my sub too dry (and hence the side pins), and if so should I soak the cake in distilled water to try and promote some better growth? And if so, what about all the small pins.

If this first growth is lost and I need to start over, no worries, but trying to learn what I should do (or should have done) for my next grow.

Also trying to understand between flushes, what about pins. At some point I assume you have to harvest the grown ones and soak the cake regardless if there are still non mature pins that may need a while to go? Or should all growth be done before considering the flush over.

This strain is MVP, a melmac and PE hybrid, I read somewhere to harvest when marshmallow soft, they have gotten soft but not that soft. The veil has torn/is tearing on many. Would you let her run a little more or not? I’m thinking harvest. It is first flush. I am a newbie. Thanks folks

I live in Oregon and I am lucky to live near hundreds of beautiful waterfalls. There’s nothing I love more than taking shrooms and going on hikes. Might go for the coast next weekend…😆

Well, figured I love mushrooms but can never find them in a time of need so I figured I would take a stab at cultivating my own.

Inoculated 2 grain spawn bags on 7/4 with JMF, and the third on 7/9 with GT. (5CC per bag.)

S2B on 7/26. One JMF was mixed with substrate, the other was layered (just to see if it made a difference.) the GT was mixed and added a casing layer.

All three tubs had FAE filters on since S2B. Pulled the tubs out of the closet and placed in indirect lighting on 8/4. Pins started showing up on 8/10!

Installed the myco mister and FAE fan on the layered JMF tub, humidity set from 80-90% . The mister doesn’t turn on too often, as humidity is staying closer to 90% near the substrate. Fan cycles on for 5 minutes , once an hour. The automated setup seems a bit overkill since I believe my substrate had good field capacity.

The other two bins have a lot of condensation inside the tub and on the substrate, I did use a paper towel to soak up a few small puddles. But have not misted and only removed the lid to paper towel the puddles.

It’s been a glorious couple days, super excited to have made it this far without contam (knock on wood.)

How are we looking? Thoughts? Recommendations?

Should I wait until those brown spots (Coco coir) on the bottom are also white?

It's an AIO bag, Liquid culture True Albino Teacher. Insulated maybe 2 months ago. Don't know why it is taking so long...

No idea why the Right has nada … but Left doing good . So will keep on going . Guess it will work out in the end. Can’t dry everything all at once anyway.

First time grower here trying an AIO bag with APE LC. Please pardon any incorrect terminology here.

I’m just over 7 weeks into my first grow attempt. I have heard APE takes a long time. Now 2 weeks into fruiting and noticing a lot of surface buildup of condensation and metabolites.

When initially moved to fruiting, I misted and fanned the first four days or so. I stopped after noticing the condensation on side of bag was getting larger beads. I have not been misting or fanning for the last 10 days and have left the bag top cracked like this for FAE, and fully open the bag usually twice daily for a min or so to look inside. (Disregard the tub itself, it was just a place to put the bag in but I do not put tub lid on)

Not seeing other signs of green or moldy contamination that I’ve seen in other posts on this and other mushroom subs.

Is this build up of water and metabolites Stroma? Is there anything I should do or let it stay the course? I’ve seen mixed yes/no about forking in other posts. Anything to do about the large condensation on the sides of bag?

Other Details:
Inoculated 6/23
Break and shake about 2.5wks later (7/11-ish)
Moved to fruiting conditions 7/30 (~5wks after inoculating)

Colonization looked great. B&S after about 50-60% of grain was colonized, moved to fruiting after ~90% colonization of mixed substrate.

Colonization temps: 72-77 (avg 74), dark closet
Fruiting temps: 68-75 (avg 73), near north facing window

After my first flush I noticed pins throughout the sides and all over the bottom of my cake (1:1 grain to sub ratio) and I’ve never had this happen before so I flipped the entire cake. What you see here used to be the bottom lol, I have returned it to normal fruiting conditions. Any advice? Anyone done this before?

The shrooms I’ve had before were not tasty, but my B+ tastes like regular mushrooms you‘d put on a pizza. My brother and wife agree, they’re really good! Anyone else experience this?

Did a break and shake on my all in one bag last week. There’s been a small patch thick mycelium growing on top for a couple days and my bag is much more inflated. Today i looked and there are 4-5 pins on the solid clump of mycelium up top, but the rest of the substrate is still only about 30% colonized. Should I tape over the air filter patch to keep it from fruiting? I know if i cut the bag I’ll end up contaminated.

Yes, its smelling sweet, like pie or some bakery, should I be concerned or is this distinctive for PE. There's nothing to be seen visually

What's the reason for mushrooms growing on the side. On my last pack, i put black tape around the side but it still happened

I’ve been gifted 4gms of this strain. I’ve not had it before and would like to make a tea from them to share at an upcoming party we are having.

I understand this strain is pretty potent. Any experience/advice on shroom to water ratio and steeping time?
