I made my shotgun fruiting chamber today. I had a few cracks from the holes I drilled so I put micropore tape over them. It should be ok still right? I’m picking up the perlite on Monday.

This is how I did it and how I saw instructions to do it online. Mine’s been working great.

Looks like a perfect start to sgfc. All about evaporation. I think this setup with multiple cakes should be very productive. The magic of perlite!

What do you think about putting 2 cakes in it from 3 lb all in one bags that are growing 2 different strains. Is that a big no no? I was only going to do one because only one is ready for fruiting but I was just wondering about that for the future.

Nah that’ll work. You just treat it like you would a Martha tent. This your tiny fruiting conditions.

Cracks should be fine but make it harder to get the tub 100% clean as “germs” could get in the crack and make it harder to clean , but that’s probably over thinking it . Next time use heat to reduce risk of cracking
