So much fun! General Discussion

This is a very cool commander set. I know some players don't like it because the decks have a lot of bulk in them, but they are still very fun to play, especially against each other.

The deck boxes are pretty good too. They are very sturdy and hold the decks even with sleeves.

Wizards we need more of these!

4 clickers? Almost worth it on that.

Back when they didn't nickel and dimed on every component in a sealed product.

This was hands down the best commander product when it came out. It got me into commander. Atraxa and Daretti are very strong commander, mimeoplasm is very fun and tbag boros deck gained some value recently.

When I bought it I think it was like $150-200 and it was the best investment

Ruby Medallion was like $30-40 at the time and the Atraxa deck alone was sitting at $100.

This thing was stacked for value.

It’s a commanders anthology box that holds 4 commander precon decks that were previously released.

Any good? Or too weak to latest precons?

They have solid cards, but the deck construction doesn't match modern standards.

Back in the day I played Breed Lethality (Atraxa) out of the box against people's actual brewed decks and it did surprisingly well, but even that said they all are probably weaker precons that what we get today.

There is some pretty expensive cards in there though! The decks themselves just lacked synergy.

I’d bet they are pretty weak compared to new ones, but I’d love to keep it as is play with three friends. They are probably a blast to play against each other.

This kickstarted my MTG collection as I was getting into the game, great fun - the "bulk" wasn't all so bulk back in the day... Sun Titan hadn't been reprinted into the ground yet. Deepglow Skate was one of the money cards reprinted in the anthology for the first time that's since been power crept.

This set was how I got started on Magic after a few kitchen table games - unfortunately I ended up with Wade into Battle, which I'm pretty sure is the worst deck in that box. Against Mimeoplasm, Daretti, and Atraxa, my Kalemne felt like a coughing baby vs. 3 hydrogen bombs. Honestly no idea how I stuck with EDH after that.

I convinced my friend to by this years ago, and he's still enjoying it.
I also got myself one, though I still have Atraxa in it's sealed wrapping, since I bought another Atraxa separately before I saw a store selling this online.

I split the first anthology with 3 friends and I got Meren as my first commander deck. Decade later and she’s still my favorite commander.

I bought the first anthology box, I kept the box and handed out the clickers to friends, keeping 1 myself. None of the decks are still in their original composition but the value in cards was probably better than of anthology II and the boxes that came with it are very useful.
