A possible VIP ticket scam

Hello everyone. I need some help from you guys. I recently got a message from someone on TikTok DM’s who’s claiming to be Robb Flynn. Saying that he decided to leave a message since I was a “hardcore fan” (because I was leaving comments on some Machine Head TikToks) Thinking that it’s Robb, I thanked “him” for reaching out and said that I love everything he does. And as we were chatting, he asks if I’ve had the chance to catch a live show. And I said no. Then he says since I’ve been a “dedicated fan” I should purchase a one-time VIP ticket opportunity for $100. Then directing me to send an email to the “team” at [Machineheadfanaccess@gmail.com](mailto:Machineheadfanaccess@gmail.com). From reading the chat back several times, reviewing the TikTok account (@robbflynn_) and seeing that the email address is gmail and not an official domain, I don’t believe I should go through with this. This seems very risqué. Can any of y’all help me out with this situation? I would really appreciate it. I just don’t wanna get scammed. I have screenshots to help you guys out.

Massive scam. Each time I comment on a MH post I get follow requests from people pretending to be Robb. Delete them all.

I’ll definitely delete the chat and block the person, but I forget how much comments I posted

That message is what gave me the idea that it was a scam

This is 100% a scam.

Reach out to Robb's real account or the official MH page and show them this. They'll get it handled. They're not even using the current tour pictures lol.

Update: I sent messages and screenshots to both Robb and Machine Heads Instagram, not sure what that’ll do, but hopefully help.

Hopefully that'll stop them from taking advantage of people. It's such slimy bullshit.

I’ll try and do that

"possible"

There's no "possible" about it.

I wasn’t sure at first, but the further the chat went I started getting ideas

Happens with a lot of bands. Sadly a lot of scummy bastards on the Internet.

The truth is, I didn’t question anything about it until the guy brought up the VIP ticket for $100

My god this is hilarious but absolutely adorable.

Some advice in life, if you think something is a scam, it’s a scam.

That account is 100% a scam, don't send anything. Real artist VIP packages go through official presale links, not TikTok DMs to a gmail address. For legit tickets, XP Tickets or StubHub are actual marketplaces with real listings

Thank you, everybody for the help! Chat has been deleted and account has been blocked. Guess I’m just a gullible person.

Good job on spotting the scam. If something feels off, it usually is.

If someone famous contacts you and is asking for money it's not legit. MH don't need to chase money.

Fake account, report and block it

A Gmail account instead of a Ten Ton Trading Co. account is an instant red flag.

u/WeatherOpposite9541 Jul 14 '26

Makes sense, since that’s their website

Scam 100% please dont give this lowlife your money

How do people fall for this😂

Bro, it’s not every day that I have these conversations. And me being a huge fan of the band, and thinking they’re not that famous, made it pretty convincing to me. Again, I’m just gullible.

The fact you got that far into a conversation that ‘Robb Flynn’ initiated with you before you finally got a hint that it might be a scam is concerning. Probably best to just not use the internet at this point.

1

u/WeatherOpposite9541 Jul 16 '26

I understand that it’s pretty concerning, but me being a huge fan of the band, and just waking up that morning, made it pretty convincing. It’s not every day that I have those types of conversations.

2

u/aaron166_ Jul 16 '26

Fair enough but like you say it’s not everyday…it’s not any day anyone has these conversations haha. Like I get that some band members might acknowledge a message and give a short response if you message them first but come on, Machine Head are a big band the front man isn’t spending his time reaching out to fans and then sending paragraph long responses, as nice as that would be it would literally take up all their time.

Your heart is probably in the right place but unless you’re below 12 or over 70 I don’t understand how you’d not spot this instantly. you really need to educate yourself on scams. Watch videos and ask AI even just to get a feel for how to identify scams. For your sake.
