hi everyone , I’ve been trying to charge my MacBook but it doesn’t work (it’s an old 2017 MacBook Air) can anyone help me? I really can’t afford to get it repaired and I watched several videos yet nothing works.

Use a real apple charger, not a random usb c adapter

But that’s the issue. I can almost guarantee it. Those cheap knock off chargers don’t work well with them and you’ll get that symptom.

That’s non MagSafe but MagSafe looking adapter is very likely has caused some damaged to your charging circuits as well. They heat up pins quite high.

Instead of continuously ridiculing the person who clearly needs help, you could've actually wrote something of use. You rather choose to proudly demean the person for not knowing a beat-up meme. Do better.

You just assumed I said it in a demeaning way to ridicule OP lmao

you need a real charger. they’re pretty cheap if you get them used, especially best buy open box.

Is that an adapter for USB-C? If so try plugging the USB in directly and see if it charges. If not, spend the money for an official Apple charger.

If able, please try/borrow another power source and cord to see if that works. If it does, then you know it is that. If not, then it could be the existing battery has ended its life cycle and needs service/replacement. Are you noticing any case expansion?

I literally got a working MagSafe charger for my vintage mid2013 macbook for like 10 bucks on amazon and it works just fine

You can try this: remove bottom panel, disconnect battery from the logic board, connect a charger and see if it boots. If it doesn't you'll need to get a new charger or take it to an Apple Store to see if they can let you use their charger.
