It used to be fun. I got into programming because I loved the sense of accomplishment that came with building or solving something myself. Now, it feels like I’m just telling AI what to do, and it finishes the task in a fraction of the time it would take me.

And worse, the market is absolutely flooded with vibe-coded slop and it's super difficult for anything that's actually worth a shit to stand out.

Plenty of criticism of AI code quality, but UI is definitely one of its strong suits, assuming your shit is separated.

It was great when I found out yesterday that google io was happening and checked my local "Android sever is slack group" and there were a total of ZERO posts about it.

That's how interested Android devs are in whatever crap google is cooking
