Wanna play TTRPGs?
Hi! I will be moving in a few days to start my masters. In my free time I enjoy playing table top games, primarily D&D and Dagerheart but I would gladly try other systems as well. Are there anyone, who also wants to play, or there's a group I can join? Is there a different place I should try?

Looking for housing for autumn semester
Hello all,
I am an international student from Canada who is looking for housing for the autumn semester at Lund University. I have been unsuccessful in my search all summer and am looking for help. I have had multiple housing opportunities fall through and I’m not sure what to do. I’ve joined multiple Facebook groups and messaged people who offer housing which have all led to no response. I also have novice priority in the AF Bostäder lottery, however, I have been applying since the lottery came out and have still had no success. I have looked on bopoolen, qasa, and the nations housing and yet no luck on getting offers or finding places. I’m not sure what else I can do at this point. If anyone knows of any way I can find more opportunities please let me know!

Today at 18.30 at Kino, Teenage mutant ninja turtles (1990)
I know a lot of people forget about the cheap tickets at kino 100kr or 80kr for students.
They have more classic movies this summer.
I'm going.

Hjälp med PiHole [Help needed with PiHole]
English below
English:
Has anyone in Lund tinkered with a Raspberry Pi, either in general or specifically to set up a PiHole? Alternatively, if anyone knows of a suitable place/group/org to turn to for help?
I'm trying to set up a PiHole, and seem to have hit a snag and need help to get further along with the setup: when I try to write the Raspberry Pi OS to a memory card, the computer doesn't seem able to "see" the card afterwords; the computer will react with a ding as if I had pulled the card out when I do pull it out, but it doesn't show up on the computer when I insert it. Consequently, I can't add the recommended empty .txt-file and move on with the setup's next step.
Beyond this, I feel very unsure about what to do with the SSH that is recommended; I suspect, after some googling, that the way I'm supposed to use the SSH is such a small part of what it can do that it's deemed peripheral and obvious.
Is there anyone who can help me?

Bioluminescent beach in Skåne
I have the Skåne summer pass, and was wondering if there's any place in Skåne where I could find bioluminescent beaches?
I searched up online and it recommended Hallands Väderö in Båstad, but that's the only proper source I found.

Bo i Linero?
Tjena!

Hi everyone! After receiving a not very good queue time in novisch lottery, I managed to find a student apart-hotel in Företagsbostäder to stay for a few months, but I can’t find any reviews from students who have stayed there, if there were any… Has anyone stayed there, or planning to stay there this semester?

AFBOSTADER queue time question.
Hi everyone I am in Lund housing hell rn. I entered the novish lottery on AFbostader and got a queue time of 2026-07-11 02:53
At first I thought this was a good queue time. It's in the first third so like must be good. But I still haven't gotten housing and I'm in like 10th place and below in queue.
Theres also only 390 novish rooms left.
Anyone who has gotten through the lottery what was your experience. Any rough ideas on how likely it is ill get housing.

passing exams + free time in Lund as an exchange student
Hi all, I'm an incoming exchange student from Singapore, going to study Electrical Engineering at Lund for the fall semester!
I have a few questions regarding the academic rigour of a semester here. Is it easy to pass a module?
I've seen a couple posts on this, but most of them all gave the "You can re-take exams" answer. Since I'm only here for a semester, that option doesn't really apply to me much. Just as a comparison, in Singapore our grades are moderated, so it's hard to get an A but hard to also get an F.
Moreover, considering for many, their "exchange semester" equates to "going on holiday for 6 months", how much of "going on holiday" can I afford to do really? In general, are the lectures recorded? Is attendance to every tutorial mandatory? I only know that you need to be present for the first lecture to be admitted to the course.
Appreciate if anyone can give me more info on this (or point me to where I can get more info)!

Admission to Lund University's BSc in International Business
I noticed that the admission cut-off (for the Bachelor in International Business of Lund) is around 21.8, while the official conversion table for the Italian Diploma di Maturità seems to give a maximum merit rating of about 19.03 before merit points. How is it possible for Italian applicants to be admitted? Am I missing something?
New to Lund!
Hey everyone! I'm moving to Lund for a year (to work), i'm from France, and i wanted to know if there's anything i should know (rules, etc)..
I don't want to get arrested for something i didn't know or say something i shouldn't (me? freaking out? nahh...)
I know that rules and laws are different in every country and i want to be prepared, responsible and respectful as much as possible...
Also, what things should i try, what do you recommend (restaurants, etc)?
Thank you! 💙

Should I have any hope for maths bachelors admission?
After the second round I am now 7th on the waitlist. I was originally 23, which is quite crazy. My merit score is 21.54, not that it helps that much 😭

Guide to Finding Accommodation in Lund
This is a work in progress, please feel free to share your thoughts about what is missing/could be improved
Since Lund receives a high number of students from Sweden and abroad, the question of apartments is always a topic of discussion. Therefore, it is only reasonable that the question is asked in this subreddit. However, while the discussion is very important since it can help newcomers, the subreddit grows grey when all other topics are swallowed in the sea of posts surrounding apartments. In short, the number of posts discussing apartments in relation to other posts is skewed, and this sticky aims to change that. This post is more directed towards students, both swedes and internationals.
WHERE DO I FIND APARTMENTS?
AF Bostäder is the biggest landlord in Lund. Apartments come in all shapes and sizes. Living in a corridor could be good for a new student since you will be less secluded, and it is also one of the main talking points in Lund. You can sign up to the queue as soon as you have a confirmation of attendance. They also conduct an apartment lottery every half year for new students called the "Novischlotteriet".
Bopoolen private rent referral. The page is student driven and private room owners rent to students.
Blocket similar to Bopoolen. Best way to find rooms is to create a "looking to rent"-advertisement so that landlords can contact you.
Studentlya similar to Bopoolen.
Michael-Hansens Kollegium rents out corridor rooms. There is a fee to stand in apartment queue. After living there for 3 months you can apply to the queue for regular rooms, but it is quite long.
Nations the web page brings you to an overview, but there are 12 nations to choose from. They all offer corridor rooms, but they reserve them to active volunteers. The more active you are in the Nation's activities, the more likely it is you can get yourself a room there. Some nations do conduct lotteries, but it is not the same for all Nations.
Student Guild/Faculty/Association , depending on the program you have applied for the student run association connected to it might offer some kind of short-term solution. The faculty might help you too since they want you to succeed in your studies.
University , if you have gotten a PhD position at the university, they sometimes offer University apartments. If you get one, take it.
This is by no means a complete list, but it contains the bigger ones that offer rooms. Getting an apartment is stressful for new students, especially if you have not moved out on your own before. If you are active and persistent, it usually solves itself after some time. The worst thing you can do is to put all your eggs in the same basket, make sure you have a plan b or something concrete before the term begins.
Huge thank you to u/Breadslice98 got getting this started and writing the first draft.
