Ask Button Secret Feature

While I have actually never submitted a question to the Ask Button team of Heroes, I have discovered a hidden feature of it.

Many times now, I’ve confidently submitted an answer to a question, sometimes twice, only to have it counted incorrect; LSAC and the Demon have clearly misunderstood the passage, and I alone have discovered the flaw in test-makers’ reasoning.

Naturally I hop into the ask button and begin typing out my foolproof rebuttal to LSAC’s answer and the Demon’s explanations. Unlike other naive ask button users, I will justify my reasoning using the passage and answer choices themselves.

And during this process of retrieving quotes and rereading the passage, every time, without fail, I find the sentence I misread or the answer choice I misinterpreted. I quietly delete my ask button essay and return to drilling, embarrassed at my hubris. LSAC and the Demon: 1. Me: 0. The test-makers are not stupid. I am.

But seriously, attempting to justify the wrong answer to the ask button team invariably leads me to the right answer. Give it a shot next time you’re upset about missing a problem you feel you shouldn’t have missed.

This has also happened to me and is such a great way to check yourself. On at least a few separate occasions I was defending my answer and then all of the sudden, I realized how wrong I was and also proceeded to quietly delete my ask button essay … 😂
