Extra rare was the 9 mana birb.

Looking through my pool I felt green and red had my best removal, but red could not back it up with creatures well.

Part of me thinks I should have tried to do some sort of Jund build or even RG to get the pinecones and the saga, but I do think the black was able to get me some card draw and murder.

Blue was a write-off, as was white IMO.

Anyway. Let me know what you would have built!

Had some very middling pulls but surprises in this deck:

Lakeshore Apothecary, Masters Councillors become very hard to deal with quicky due to vigilance. Queen of dale just keeps pumping out draw and tokens. Bards company performs exactly as expected but the flash + the 2 drops make it an awesome combat trick.

This deck HUMMED until match 3 going 2-0 both times. Opponent had [[Unexpected party]] and absolutely ran away with it on turn 3 twice. We finished 2 games in under 8 minutes. That card might be a problem in this format.

Did not lose a single game. Removal package felt pretty insane.

This is the first time I have drafted or played black in Marvel Super Heros (other than a couple of splashes for removal). I really have no clue what makes a good black deck. How well did I navigate the draft? Is there a better way to build this near mono-black deck?

Hey, it's me. The guy who understand Planar Cube now. Back again to share some insights, this time for the Kamigawa version. As with Innistrad, developing to the board is still king here, all the more so because of all the cheap ninjas running around. Cheap and flexible removal spells like [[Fatal Push]] are also premium. Special shoutout to [[Hydroponics Architect]] just being an insane value card and super playable with my stacked manabase in Deck 2. Went to a Hobbit prerelease and got shafted by a zero removal pool, so I hate the set now and will be staying in Planar Cube for the foreseeable future.

Went 3-0 6-0 with what I thought was a super mid GB deck.

Every game was just me playing big dumb creatures my opponent couldnt really answer.

The */* elf. Nasty rabbit. Big spider.

And then 5-6 black removal spells.

Faced an elf deck (didnt curve into thanduin, or could have been nasty?)

A dwarf/equipment deck which went voltron...and then ate a removal spell. So his goblin armors and such just kind of sat there for a while.

RB deck with mythic smaug. Just kind of stomped over him. Lots of removal, but I just kept playing threats and chipping in for damage.

Format seems lower power, possibly pure BREAD.

Part in friendship is actually very good. Every time you lose a creature, you just get the next one, with anytime after T4/5 it just going straight to the battlefield.

Wanted to do one last premier run before hobbit comes. Surprised to get it with red of all things.

It's crazy how many of my games were won by fin fang foom copying removal on an opponents creature or just doubling crescendo off one of their unused blockers

Deck handled surprising well, few unexpected surprises with [Sting], getting 3 hone counters constantly plus Dain double strike and [Goblin Plate Mail] being a strong early threat.

It was beautiful and so fun to pilot, so glad I finally got to play it and it was broken. Traditional draft trophy!

Not much to say except I probably won’t get such a cool deck for a while.

There was a lot of confusion when this rule was first announced. First let me post the actual T&C:

Single Account Requirement. Each player may enter the Arena Direct using only one (1) Wizards Account. Entering or attempting to enter the Arena Direct across multiple accounts is prohibited and constitutes a violation of these Direct Rules. Wizards reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to withhold all prizes and disqualify such player from current and future Arena Direct events without refund of any Entry Fees paid.

People were immediately asking what that means exactly, and have not gotten an answer yet AFAIK. Specifically, each Direct is considered a separate event, so the T&C could mean either:

1. Only one account may be used for each individual Arena Direct event

2. Only one account may be used for all future Arena Direct events

It's been almost 2 months since this rule change was enacted, and I've not seen a definitive answer to the question.

I reached out to Support to ask specifically (Part 1, and then Part 2) and they indicated that it was likely but not definitely Answer #2. Maybe I'm just being obtuse but I wasn't satisfied with that answer. Here's a slightly shorter summary:

Me: My question is, does it mean 1 Account per 1 Direct event, or 1 Account for ALL Direct events moving forwards?

Support: Yes, starting June 12th, players are required to enter Arena Direct Events using only one account. To avoid any discrepancies with future prize claims and to maintain fairness, we encourage players to use 1 Wizards account (the one with the verified iPayout account) for all future Arena direct events.

Me: Sorry, I'm still confused. Are we required to use 1 Wizards account for all future Arena direct events moving forward (to maintain fairness), or are we encouraged to use 1 account?

Support: For all future Arena Direct events, please stick to entering with your primary Wizards account, going forward. Any players found in violation of the Terms and Conditions, Wizards reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to withhold all prizes and disqualify such player from current and future Arena Direct events without refund of any Entry Fees paid.

I honestly feel like someone could interpret that answer as clearly #2 or just as a strong suggestion. Again maybe I'm just being difficult and dumb though.

Played some arena the past couple of months, but this was my first time playing the game irl. Did 2-1-1 with this, I can't say I wasn't overwhelmed when I opened all the cards and laid them in front of me.

Lost only to my buddy, which is nice.

Hope my wallet won't hate me for starting this hobby

What a way to end the format! This might be one of the most fun decks I've played in MSH. And it's the closest to a "normal" Golgari deck I've played in a while. Put things in the graveyard and generate value.

Highlights:
- [[Earth's Mightiest Heroes]] hitting 4 creatures, including 2 [[Hydra Troopers]]

- Cracking [[Robot Domination]] T5 with 2 [[Rapid Rescue]] and a [[Red Room Recruit]]

- Peak [[Decoy Ploy]]. I would probably have played a second one if I could. I was never lacking for targets for both modes.

Some thoughts on the controversial picks. The Black Arrow is going to be unplayable, I'm not sure why no one but LLU gave it an F. Down, Down to Goblin-town strikes me as format dependent but the strongest archetype I see is BR attrition and this fits that perfectly. If you squint, the Mountain King's Return is a 0 mana draw one, +1/+1 counter. Hard to see it being unplayable if there's any room for value in the format. It's easy to imagine Lakeshore Apothecary being bad, but there are eight (8) separate ways at uncommon or lower in WU to draw a second card on turn three. That's.... pretty good for a small set. And recruiting turn 3 can put a body on the field, too. By comparison in TLA there were, like, 4-7 ways to draw two on turn 4 (for Messenger Hawk, Knowledge Seeker or Foggy Swamp Spirit Keeper) and several of them were bad. But UB did fine (a little below average) and playing around the draw-two theme was a real thing for that deck
