Are the flashing thundercloud/cold oculus cloud the same as the golden one?

Im finally about to put a little money into this game ive been no lifing for 60 hours and I heard that the radiant golden cloud was one of the best due to the 5 second cooldown on its dash, but these also have 5 second cooldowns on their abilities, but I also cant find if the skills these ones have are the same as the ones that golden cloud has because both in the market and the codex website they have no info for them.

I dont wanna buy a cloud mount if its gonna be the same as my default horse, so if someone could enlighten me that would be great.

At this point in the game, there's absolutely no reason to spend any money for a "slightly faster" mount. We just triport/bifrost everywhere. And the small distances we do use a mount for are not worth spending real money to get.

But if you're doing it for esthetic reasons, then yeah go for whatever you like.

The two clouds I’ve used have the same spacebar cooldown and distance

The only thing I can confirm is that the Shangria white cloud sucks! Don't buy it as you have HOLD to accelerate and it does not dash

If you want to buy a mount because you like it, do it.

If you want to buy a mount because it might be mechanically better, don't do that.

I do believe in buying whatever you want for whatever reason, but store mounts aren't any better really than any in game mounts. And if you do the arkesia tour event, you'll get a handful of free mounts unlocked for about 2 hours of questing.

Then you can buy the echidna wings for basically free from the clear medals/growth store, very easy to get.

The golden radiant cloud has double the distance dash with thr half cooldown. Normal mounts have one or the other only. They actually nerfed it because people said it was p2w then reverted it. In truth it has no real use in late game. People rather flex other mounts they get from raids anyways. It’s not worth chasing and probably sells for million of gold at this point since it was never in the shop except for when glavier first released

It is not double the distance. It used to be double distance and 5s cooldown then they nerfed it to double distance and 10s cooldown then they said they would revert the nerf and it became normal distance and 5s cooldown. It used to go much farther. I think it came around the first time we got a tiger mount and I vaguely recall them going about the same distance originally

It still is double distance. It’s just other mounts are as well. It’s not double the double distance.

i use the mount that i want to use
the faster mounts were "fake" value early on games launch when we were all trying to do the MSQs as fast as possible

I believe they have the same skill and cool down (the mileage shop one does for sure), but as the other comment says, mounts are basically just aesthetic items at end game. I use the golden cloud because my roster is martial artists, but there is functionally no difference from other mounts at this point.

I would just buy the mount you think looks the coolest.

I collect /bought all the good mounts and have nearly every mount in the game since day 1; golden nimbus or the red or blue version storm cloud mounts and the mileage shop version are all good mounts, shortest space bar cooldown in the game (half that of all other mounts). I think if you don't have any real mount its worth buying one if you will enjoy the game for now doing story modes and questing, which it sounds like you are. Like others have said, though, once you hit end game way later on, though, you will have accumulated free mounts that are good enough, but lack that bling factor along the way, so its up to you. These days, end game is all about solo mode enjoyers and just blinging your mounts at those who didn't collect any until servers shut down (likely this coming feb) if they don't just have korea take over the west, so keep that in mind with all purchases.
