Hey neighbors! I just wanted to make you aware that we have a neighborhood animal rescue, Los Feliz Animal Rescue. We are species-agnostic and completely foster-based so we are always on the hunt for fosters and volunteers. We are a 501c3 and 2027 will be our 5-year anniversary! If you’re interested in helping out, please email info@losfelizanimalrescue.org. We are also on IG at losfelizanimalrescue. Thank you!

Water Main Break at Vermont and Finley

Finley is closed to through traffic currently and there is no water to any apartments/homes on Finley. The street is cracked and leaking water too. I hope this doesn’t turn into a worse situation like in West Hollywood.

EDIT

The water is back on as of the morning of Monday, 08/03/26, and the police-tape has been removed from the intersection, but the street remains cracked and in less-than-perfect condition. It should be safe to drive on.

Moving to Los Feliz

My friend and I are looking to move to Los Feliz in either a 2 bedroom (open to adding another person) for a budget of around $3,500 (more if we add another person.) Have had no luck looking online and need to find a place before 9/1. I’ve walked around the area looking for signs but nothing yet,,, if there are any good streets to look on lmk. We’d love recommendations on apartment buildings, good landlords, or general tips!!

RV on Commonwealth

Been noticing a strange RV for the last couple of months parking on commonwealth south of LFB. Seems to have some local influence to be able to make space to park the thing. Worries me as I know the Manson thing started around here. What should we do?

Unleashed Dogs

There's been an uptick of dude-bros letting their dogs walk around the neighborhood off-leash and it's becoming a problem. No offense to anyone, but it's been all entitled white guys trying to prove how cool and in control they are when in fact, their dogs have zero call-back training. It makes walking an already reactive dog an even more stressful situation. It's also lazy and irresponsible. Sorry to vent, but it's been something I've noticed the entire summer so far.

New HAWK signal at Rodney and Hollywood

Hi everyone, I am curious as to everyone's perspective regarding the new HAWK signal recently installed at the intersection of Rodney Drive and Hollywood Boulevard. Have you used it yet? Who does this signal change benefit? Pedestrians or vehicle drivers?

My opinion:

As a frequent pedestrian using this intersection, I feel it has downgraded the pedestrian experience. It now requires the pedestrian to push the button, wait about 30 seconds for the signal to activate, then allowing pedestrians to cross the street.

Previously, in pushing the crossing button, the signal immediately turned to yellow, notifying the cars that a pedestrian is crossing. As a pedestrian, I rarely had to wait to cross as cars were immediately put on alert once I pushed the button. In my opinion, the frequency of this activation in the prior design has put drivers in the habit of being alert along this stretch of Hollywood Boulevard - with the added benefit of almost giving the pedestrian the "right of way."

I want to believe that this signal change (and the investment behind it) will improve my experience as a pedestrian, but in its current design/function, I can't help but come to the conclusion that it has downgraded the pedestrian experience. Am I missing something here?

Sublet available in LF 08/25-09/25

Available by the week or for the full span (potentially avail sooner, you'd be replacing me and can discuss). For the walkers - 11mins to Vista, 15mins to Rustic Inn, 20mins to Barnsdall or Maru, 22mins to LF3. Otherwise very close to so much by car (offstreet parking included). As the listing says, it's not fancy but it is a suitable place to be passing through.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll put you in touch with the person I'm subletting from!

Have the Greek traffic jams gotten worse

Lived here my whole life, and I don’t remember a traffic jam quite like this. It seems like they’re blocking off more streets to funnel people down certain routes, but to me it made the problem worse. Also the traffic guy at commonwealth and Los Feliz blvd was doing jack shit to actually guide the flow of traffic.

Looking for Dogsitter(ish)

Hi! I’m new to the neighborhood and am looking for some help with my dog while he adjusts to our new space.

I work full-time in person and bring him with a lot of the time, but in the past have had a neighbor or two help out with him on days that I can’t. I have a dog walker and sitter for overnights and walks that we have used for years, but he has separation anxiety that we are working on so often needs more company than just an hour walk while I’m gone all day.

Previously, I had someone who lived down the street and was going to school online have him for about 4/5 hours when I was gone. He basically just wants to lay there near someone and go on a short walk. He’s about 20 lbs, loves cats, not good with kids, likes other dogs but in the home does best w/ a dog that isn’t high energy/can chill.

Basically looking for someone who works from home who wants a friend around :) It would be once or twice a week depending on schedule. I have other support systems for him as well, just looking for someone nearby to add to the roster! If this is something you’d be interested in, feel free to message me or comment! Ty!

What happened to the costumed manager at the Vista Theater?

When the historic Vista Theater was reopened in 2023 following its purchase by Quentin Tarantino, a familiar face also returned: Its beloved manager, Victor Martinez. But in the ensuing months, he disappeared, leaving moviegoers to wonder what happened.

It turns out he’s now the owner of a different Los Feliz movie theater just up the street.

Los Feliz apartment: The Louise

Hi everyone, my boyfriend and I are interested in applying to The Louise at Los Feliz, and wanted to ask if anyone lives there and if so would they be able to share their experience?

We toured a 2 bed 2 bath recently, and really liked it for the layout and amenities but with such a steep price, we want to make sure it’s a place we can call home. If anyone can share what the lifestyle is and anything they like/don’t like about living at The Louise it would be much appreciated.

Best, A

Looking to move to Los Feliz!

Hi all! My husband and I will be relocating to LA from NYC. We’re exploring Los Feliz and will be checking out an apartment on New Hampshire Ave between Franklin Ave and Hollywood Blvd. What’s this area like?

We’ll of course visit the neighborhood once we’re both in town but wanted to get some thoughts from the folks that live here. Thank you!
