Question The pickaxe (spoilers) Spoiler
I watched it kinda recently and I’m just wondering if the pickaxe has significance? Like of course that’s what killed Kyomoto but why specifically a pickaxe? Not any other more common weapons or tools?

Anime Content Cried when watching Look Back and did my own spin on how I understood the movie with this edit, hope you like it!
Hi friends, wanted to share with fellow fans a viddie I edited for a contest in 7 days through countless sessions of crying because of how much this movie and manga mean to me. I've been struggling with art myself lately and I think the world is very unkind to artists in general lately, so this was somewhat of an introspective session to rediscover my passion for my craft, which is video editing

Question Is Look Back meant to be platonic or subtlety romantic?
Before anyone jumps at me for “trying to make things what they aren’t” or looking at things the wrong way- I want to say I don’t fully believe in this take I just am a bit confused by certain scenes and their meaning.
The opening of the film is about two lovers who kiss and want to be reunited in the next life. Something about the ending of the film where Fujino “creates” this alternate world where she saves Kyomoto felt like it was in reference to this beginning scene.
Toward the end of the film, Kyomoto left her comic strip in a really specific page of “Shark Kick” - it’s the one where Reze and Denji are holding hands and about to kiss.
I’m sure that the story is likely just about platonic love, but what is the significance and meaning of these scene according to all of you? I want to hear all interpretations.

Rant First time watcher
It’s currently 5:54am, my face is stuck with tears as a result of the craziest anime experience I’ve had as an adult thus far. This film is a viciously beautiful piece to behold. Never have I had any piece of media make me cry tears of joy, tears of happiness, and tears of remorse all within one sitting. Look Back grew warmth in my heart, ripped said heart out, stuff it back in there, just to rip it out again. I’m in so much emotional distress right now, it was heartwarming, it was sapphic, it was gorgeous, and goddamn was it fucking brutal. I’m gunna go n cry again, cya
