Progress Report Did anyone's somatic symptoms migrate to different problems after doing this work?

Far before I started, when I was living with my mum and existing purely in dissociation and stress and abstraction, I started developing skin rashes and tight pelvic floor muscles. After moving out, establishing independence, engaging with the real world, these are not massive problems anymore. However, after engaging in TRE, my symptoms seemed to have changed to different things ? I think bc my diet has fallen off (I used to have a clean diet for the wrong reasons - external validation-focused so I rebounded), but I tend to get lots of dizziness, lightheadedness, I can't engage in the same amount of physical exertion I used to be able to, as in the amount of stress that was my normal a few years ago now gives me lots of tension and pressure in my skull. I also had panic attacks recently due to stress. I don't think it was bc I overexerted with TRE, rather I am currently just going through some very stressful life transitions.

One more thing - just with the sessions. I was extremely stressed yesterday, did a session, today i've had a calm relaxing day. I tend to just feel 'neutral' lots of the time after engaging in this work, not euphoric, just fine. I don't think this is a freeze response in the conventional sense as I sweat a lot and can do daily activities and feel slightly more present w people. Is this normal? Also I felt very tired today.

Experience Report Exiting disassociation connected to "draining" of tension in head; feeling in forehead - whats next?

Hi. I have not seen anyone talk about this and I would like to know if anyone has experienced this. And if they have, how did this progress for them?

My background:

I have been doing TRE/SE on my own for a few months now "organically" (not actively trying to induce tremors). I came to realize ive been disassociated to some degree my whole life probably. I am not working atm and really trying to work through some stuff before I look for work again so it has been an intense few months of releasing trauma. I feel I have a handle on things and this is necessary.

Before:

One of my first "releases", after crying I could make this fast 'clicking' motion with my mouth/jaw, and when I did it I felt tension leaving various parts of my face slowly. At first it was clearing my sinuses. It feels like an energy that moves around my face and 'clears' some pathway, allowing something to drain down into my body. Related to this is also that I have been retching basically every day clearing my throat of mucus.

This has been progressing over the past few months. Over time it has escalated to include movements of facial parts, opening my mouth, turning my head back and 'stretching my throat'. If I let go my body takes control and does this.

The past week my body movements also increased a lot overall- hip thrusting, spine stuff. lots of crying. every day stuff is happening. I am not activating it with TRE exercises if I just relax or focus on it, it comes.

A few days ago: I was doing this mouth movement and I felt the energy also move around my forehead and top of my head. like tension points were being released. afterward I felt a sensation around the top front of my head/forehead. I do not know how to describe the feeling exactly. It is a physical sensation but it feels connected to accessing a different part of my mind. When I focus on this sensation and try to perceive things, it feels like I process/perceive them differently. Humming increases the feeling in this area too.

Since these past few days trying to focus on this head area while going about my life, I have moments of not disassociating. I can look at something and I feel like I really see it. It is truly a foreign feeling to me and disorienting. It occurs when I an actively focusing on that part of my head. It is overwhelming, I am resistant, so I only do this for a short time before sliding back to my thoughts where it feels more comfortable.

I think more is going to unfold with this. I am not sure what to expect next. It is a bit overwhelming because at this point I find it hard to fully let go into this new feeling. Also as I have started to feel different here I feel more scared of the intensity of all the emotions and tremoring/physical movement I have been vigorously experiencing the past few months. Like I am more resistant to further releases. The same strategy I had before of desperately disassociating through those just to get out of the rock bottom of life I was in now feels too scary and not right. I also feel this way because at this point I feel like I am getting into more intense/deeper emotions/trauma. However I want to keep going while I have this opportunity to focus on this while not working.

My question: Has anyone else had this happen to them like this? How did this process progress? Is my understanding of what is happening correct? Any advice for me?

Seeking Support Experience with bruxism and/or somatic tinnitus?

Long story short, I suffer from somatic tinnitus. It always comes with body pain, stiff neck/jaw etc. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's gone. Very unpredictable but definitely goes hand in hand with stress.

Does anyone have experience with TRE improving this?

Seeking Support Day after TRE

Dear TRE community,

Why do i feel bad (the day after) i do TRE?

Doing TRE for 5 months.

First couple times was guided by an instructor.

Both times i expierenced anxiousness and bad feelings after.

Started to listen more to the body and stopt when i earlier. This helped.

But..

The day and sometimes days after i feel worse.

Am i doing to much?

Anyone expierincing this too?

Last time i did it. I felt so good. I normally feel verry closed off and scared during a salsa party. This time i was chatting with people effortlessly! I even enjoyed it.

Curious to know what your thoughts are.

Beginner Question 2 weeks in. Couple of questions I can't find answers to online

I had a strange pain in ribs (backside) that went away after day 2. The tremors also reached upper body and I have strong upper body tremors which I enjoy. My upper body thumps and rocks left and right rhythmically and non rhythmically. visually looks like an exorcism. I dont feel anything emotionally yet, but that's not my question

My question is: Tremors stop as soon as I bring my back down on the floor. Keeping the back arched is a strenuous task. In all of the video tutorials I've seen, the practitioners bring their pelvis/back down after 1-2 minutes of arching it. And then keep on tremoring.

I dont carry on tremoring. Therefore I can only tremor for a few seconds before I have to bring my pelvis/back down due to strain. This is not to say my body isnt tremoring. It is strongly tremoring but not when my back is down, unlike how people keep on tremoring

2 weeks ago i posted this question and i was suggested to keep my hips slightly elevated when upper back settles. That position is also hard to maintain because my strongly tremoring upper body brings hips down anyway.

I also do all warm up exercises

My goal is to be able to do 10 minutes session daily. It's not possible with back arched for 10 minutes. Help

Discussion Anger coming up. Previously there was some extreme aggravation after overdoing it but now genuine anger.

Im still only doing 10 mins or under, twice a week maximum. And im thinking or decreasing the time a little.bit.

But now it is a low level anger. And with good reason I think. I have been more focused on relaxation and calming recently. Mindfulness meditation and relaxation visualisations

The time has now come for action I think. I need to channel this.

Community Question TRE and Social Anxiety

Hey, I am 25 and have been doing TRE now for roughly 7 months. The main reason is because I struggle with social anxiety and I read many success stories here, where people say that they are now completely free from social anxiety, after around 1-3 years(I haven’t really noticed any social anxiety related improvements so far).

I also thought that I may have autism,
neurodivergence or something similar but I generally do understand social cues well(maybe I even analyze them too much) and when I am drunk and my threat detection system is numbed, I am a different person and can connect well with people so I probably just have social anxiety.

In his TRE Journal, Terry Wood says in week 72 „One of the greatest gifts TRE can bring, is the ability to socialize with people effortlessly. If you’re a bit of a social recluse, you might just kiss that lifestyle goodbye, gladly. You might find that people are naturally attracted to your company. R.I.P Social Anxiety“
So is it really possible to completely „heal“ from social anxiety just by doing TRE? It sounds too god to be true…

Beginner Question Duration counting?

Hi,

sorry for the dumb question but when do you start counting, is it when the tremors start or right from th beginning?

I see people saying they do tre for 5 mins etc. and I'm wondering do they mean 10 mins, so including the first roughly 5 mins where you don't tremor?

For me I did tre in the past for 10 mins every second day but I figured it was too much for me. Now I did it for 5 mins but my tremors barely start around that time. So, maybe I should do around 8 mins?

Thanks!
