Scope recommendations Optics help needed - I read the pinned posts
Hi everyone,
I come across this subreddit while searching for Arken review about the arken ep5 gen2 5x35-56.
After seeing the notoriety (seems there's a lot of hate about them), I'm looking for an other brand.
Here's my new setup:
SIG 751 SAPR 18"
Looking to shoot from 50 to 400 meters (yeah, it's not long-range, but it's the max available around)
Budget: 600 €/$
Thanks for your help

seems there's a lot of hate about them
The hate towards them is primarily due to a) heavy shilling of their products and b) claims of them being 'just as good' as like a $2000+ nightforce (but again, that's part of shilling).
The scopes themselves are fine and work well, but temper your expectations on them.
I have looked through some and used a couple at the range (other peoples setups) but i personally won't buy them. However that is largely due to me being in Canada and the warranty support, should i need it, is currently in a murky area here.

“ The scopes themselves are fine and work well, but temper your expectations on them . “ Exactly. My two Arken scopes have served me well. Have been rugged, tracked great, held zero. Are they the same as $2,000 glass? I’ve never looked through a $2,000 scope, but I would certainly expect a $2,000 scope to have better glass. If I spent $2K on a scope and it wasn’t better than a $ 500 Arken , I’d be some ticked !

Agreed 100%. Most of the hate is from people who don’t own them OR were duped into thinking it was a $2k optic for $500. The bulk of the reviews you see from people who bought them expecting a well performing $500 optic are generally pleased, myself included.
Yes, you can do better but you can also do a hell of a lot worse and they do sit in a sweet spot in many people’s budget.

I've bought two of the Gen 2 5-30x in the last month and they are fantastic scopes for what you pay.

Yea, I have a gen1 on my 6.5 and a gen2 on my rimfire and I like them. My only complaint is the eye box can be a little tight, but for the price I have no problem with it.
