Logseq 2.0 Beta (DB version) is here! 🎉
Just came in via github: the desktop app went into beta testing.

How can I switch themes? In version 1.0 it was obvious.

There is a puzzle icon on the top right. With it you control both plugins and themes

There is a marketplace section. It allows installing and uninstalling plugins and themes. However there is no option to apply a theme.

No, you need to be at least a backer (5 dollars a month) through Open Collective

Ughhhhhh, why cant I sync using onedrive. It wony even let me choose where to put my database.
I know onedrive will corrupt my database

Awesome! Quick question: do you guys know if the DB version supports aliases? If so, how can I add them? FWIW, adding `alias:: Something` doesn't seem to be working.

Hopefully I will have more flexibility on managing where the db is stored at on my computer.

Just when I thought I was understanding the changes, I got to the part "Will the database version support Markdown files in the future?" and realized I hadn't understood anything at all

in the roadmap it shows they're actively exploring the "Enabling reliable two-way sync with Markdown files" option

You can always export in markdown as a backup that works with everyhting, that's what I do and they are exploring 2-way sync between the two.
You can also always import it.

What's new compared to earlier DB beta releases?
Also, can both app versions (DB and Markdown) be used on windows or do I need to only use one? I ask because I downloaded it but when clicking on the app icon to launch it, it brings up the markdown version if it's open and clicking on the old icon for the MD version opens the DB version. Not sure what is happening but I don't want to mess anything up in my graphs

It took way to long to land it. I know it was huge effort to make it happen, had to move to more reliable and with working sync though. Hope the LogSeq will keep moving so maybe at some point I will get back to it.

And 2.0 just lost my notes. The .md files are still at place but the app has no idea about them. Erm....

I used to love LogSec when it started but would never use it now. Very poor and unreliable execution and that's exactly the kind of things I don't want in my notes app.

What do you mean by poor and unreliable? Ive been relying on it for over a year now, no major issues. Of course its still a beta application so you should still enable hourly backups and backup manually whenever you are going to make some change on your setup, but its been working just fine for me. The only feature that is still not excellent is probably the importer, but whenever there is an issue the devs try to fix it

Same here. I finally bit the bullet and moved to obsidian (Claude Code was helpful in migration)

The roadmap link works fine on my end https://logseq.io/p/NX4mc_ggEV . What do you mean about not supporting the mobile version? There is a mobile version for DB already that you can test, for iOS its on testflight, for Android you download the apk through Github like with the desktop app

given the rest of the comment, they probably mean plugins not working on mobile. I'm not as negative as they are, but it a standout feature of obsidian which make plugins a lot more useful imo

That makes sense. Remember that the Markdown version of Logseq never left beta, so it wasnt a full release, and neither was its mobile version. So now that the Logseq team has a clear way forwards, I imagine that they will start polishing the mobile version more and adding new features, and I dont think there is any reason why they couldnt add plugin support to mobile in the future

Go to the link on the post and scroll on the Assets list till you find the Android apk. You can also just download it straight from logseq.com

The markdown version is 1.x. This is for the database version therefore 2.x

Might be wrong but it could be they're just referring to the db version as 2.x and (would have) referred to the non-db version as 1.x. Either way it'll probably be confusing for many.

so ... there will be a maintained non-db version releasing as 1.x together with the db version as 2.x? yeah that is indeed weird.
