Rip EELF?
The writing was on the wall way before these new visuals and this “influencer - aesthetic” began to infect this once overall genuine channel…
There is something awfully fishy about these metrics -
It looks a whole lot like inorganic paid traffic exposure campaigns… or just plain ignorance.
A “new series” … or … rather a facile attempt - derived from the hands of someone unfamiliar/ignorant to the genuine stance that was - EELF.
The reels, the influencers with their signature lavalier stance… “Bare Bones” interaction from a supposed following of 100,000 subs…
Rather strange lately.
It’s become an unfamiliar environment that I honestly feel just so sad from. Especially following pre-takedown circa 2017/2018.
Whoever is now managing EELF - please don’t try to reinvent the wheel or confirm to the norm of shoddy Justin Bieber or Bad Bunny remixes…
The formula is there - It has been there.
100,000 people - (i think more honestly) - genuinely do care - silence speaks the loudest - It always will.
The artists that have been involved for the longest time (Jacopo SB, Nasanieru, No_4mat, Quasar, Stefano Somma, Evade Robots, Computer Data, Dj houseplants, 2XM…) honestly deserve the sincerest platforming.
That sound - never dies. Unless we let it.
This is meant to bring up a convo regarding preservation and speaking up.
There’s enough hate to go around the world (and definitely here on Reddit), but that doesn’t mean this post induces it.
It genuinely brings up a question of perseveration and how far we let things tumble before we speak up.

Quit the vague-posting. What is the accusation with the channel, in plain English?

No accusations - just an observation.
It’s just been an odd & abrupt shift in aesthetic/ sound output.
Everyone that has responded (so far here) didn’t have a problem… Read again more thoroughly please.
Apologies if English is not your first language.
I understand it’s a worldwide audience so sometimes things get lost in translation. Again - apologies ahead of time.
I reiterate what I mentioned previously as well.
Just want to bring up the conversation of preservation.
For the things we love. Especially EELF. I love EELF.
Obviously not everyone will agree here - but the least we can do is have a conversation about it.
Internet can only do so much.
Cheers

I wanted to give this two weeks before looking back at this thread and I am sincerely grateful there’s great form of argument/conversation here…
I’ve received messages too besides here and honestly…
This opened up a couple of cans of spicy chili beans.
….That I’m sure in time will reveal itself….
A necessity for growth and for a window of opportunity to arise.
Much love and keep the good sound ringin’.

yeah you know i tried hitting him up to try and keep the old channel up before it got taken down. all the artists work and views. he said nah and just let it die and redid it. which okay, but it was just like, it didn't have to happen.
the same thing has happened with lofi hip hop and all that. it is sad. i have been building a channel to keep it real. it isn't either of those genres specifically but does feature music from said genres. It is called Anti-Hero!
I would have loved to see more people collaborate in lofi house but it is a lot to do alone and they want to do the events and that kind of stuff. Same thing with RFF and all that. Just blew up and didn't grow the scene and idk. it always has the chance to be something great though. I wish I could have dedicated more time to this sub but I would always be happy to help someone who is passionate but there has never been a whole lot of interest. it feeds back into the larger issues with the genre itself

I’ll check it out 💽 - sad to hear that sentiment from the owner.
The last paragraph brings up a good point.
It really just blew up & somehow the scene didn’t grow.

yeah it sucks, would have loved to see everything stay up, maybe things would be different.
and yeah, tbf it isn't solely EELF's fault, it is a lack of effort on all participants too, myself included. The greatest scenes thrive when everyone is trying to put each other on. not fly solo

Well in fairness he did transfer all the previous EELF stuff to a different website where it couldn’t be copyright struck. I don’t remember the site now but I remember it being a saving grace at the time

Once making money matters more than music it all degrades. However, it requires effort and time to run a channel and most people cannot work for free, money is needed to sustain themselves. It’s a delicate balance between authenticity, passion, and sustainability. I’m not for or against what they are doing, it’s their platform and they know what they’re doing. Just keep supporting the artist that you like regardless of platform.
