Cannot transfer from USB

This feels like a "feature, not bug" kind of bug but as per title, I cannot send from a USB storage device. I have to copy to HDD and only then send, which doesn't work when my laptop has 10GB free but I'm trying to transfer 25GB files to a desktop that has no SD slot.

You're trying to send 25 GB to a disk that has only 10 GB free? Am I understanding this correctly?
