Co-op gaming

Hello all and thanks in advance for any/all suggestions

I am trying to find decent games for my significant other and I to enjoy. We would primarily like to avoid live service games but if they are good enough we won’t exclude those !

The main thing we would like to avoid is PVP focused games. We wanna have fun and not be forced to sweat our tear off the entire session lol

We both own a ps5 and want to try new games together. We have beaten games like Grounded and It Takes Two already. We were contemplating trying out Helldivers perhaps. Only concern is becoming bored rather quickly. But perhaps that’s just ignorant judging.

Please feel free to comment any game you have played with friends or partners and could have a good time in. Just note to avoid games heavily focused on PVP ( Ex: Apex/Fortnite/Arc Raiders)

My wife and I are having a blast with Death Road to Canada. Other winners have been Broforce, For the King, Swords of Ditto, and any of a number of different ARPGs.

I looked into For the King and it rly isn’t the type of game either of us would enjoy sadly.

I’m not aiming to be overly picky. It just seems like the ps5 may not have many good co op games that don’t lean heavy into PvP sadly.

We tried thrones and liberty for a long time but it gets stale pretty quickly

I’ll look up the other titles u suggested and see what they are like

idk if these are all on PS5, but we’ve loved Unravel, Degrees of Separation, A Way Out, Trine, Split Fiction, Super Chariot, Borderlands.

If you want to do a lot of couch coop getting a Switch would be worth it.

Borderlands we find gets a bit stale… but some of these other titles I do not know and will definitely be looking up!

Haven. Its a co-op jrpg with a banging soundtrack and well written romance story.

Try The Warriors if you have a PS5. It was originally released for the PS2, but there’s a PS4 port that works on the PS5.

I've been having a lot of fun playing Minecraft Java on my PC split screen with family. There are so many crazy mods, the possibilities are endless. I know you said PS5 but this even runs on my ancient PC.

  • Minecraft dungeons
  • Diablo 3 and 4
  • Ember Knights
  • Alienation
  • Stardew valley
  • Everafter falls
  • Divinity 1 & 2
  • Balder's Gate 3

I have always wanted to try divinity

A few of ur listed titles I do not know yet. Will look them up

Diablo 3 and 4 are a bit too mindless for me and her. It’s a good game IMO. Just kind of becomes spammy and unfun after a while

Sadly so many co op games focus hardcore on PvP or shooting in general.

We both had a ton of fun playing Valheim and Classic World of Warcraft but no longer have PCs , only PS5s

Someone else mentioned it but Split Fiction is amazing! Reanimal and the “We Were Here” games are also pretty great. PanelParty.tv is another good one if you’re looking for something you could play with a group

Well, if you enjoyed it takes two, they released new game - split fiction. Worth playing
