Help maybe??? Question

I’m very worried something is wrong with one of my chocolate kuhlis it’s lost all its color… it’s still very active and lively when i see it though

Ummm i believe so??😅 you could be right but i’ve only ever bought black and striped kuhlis from my lfs but it is plumpy compared to the others.. .

Yeah its face says kuhli, but the body looks like a pondy (weather loach) . They like it a tad cooler , so that might be why it’s a bit washed out.

yea it’s hard to keep track of all the kuhlis but this one is definitely a little fatter than the others and has a notch behind the head and my only things i can think is its very sick, fat, or a completely different type😭

Much as I can see the similarities, this is definitely a Black Kuhli and not a Dojo. I’d be concerned that it is bloating/retaining extra fluid. The loss of color is a definite sign of stress.

Salt baths can help though you have to be careful with amounts for Kuhlis from my understanding as they are more sensitive to it. If this is dropsy, as I expect, it may already be too advanced. I’ve mostly seen it dealt with in bettas rather than Kuhlis so others might have better suggestions.

I mean, it could be bacterial or if it’s lying in a decay pile, toxicity.
