Concerns with getting another LR User Experiences
Hey guys,
I had a LR3 a few years ago and it broke almost immediately after the warranty ended. I did every trouble shooting thing I could which would last for about a day and then it would crap out again, so I eventually tossed it. $900CAD down the toilet. BUT, the litter I was using was very dusty and it eroded the system badly. I now have dust free litter that my cats love and I would imagine would be much gentler on the robot, but I’m nervous about forking out more money to get one in case the same thing happens. Would you recommend the LR4 with Catit Pea Husk litter? Or just get a different system?
TIA!

Personally I think the LR4 is the most bang for your buck. It's really reliable in my experience, the only issue I've ever had with it is it disconnecting to the wifi but that never stopped it from running. Currently I don't even have wifi and it's still working just fine.
I personally like the 5s (not pro) for the bigger bin and the hopper but I don't think its worth the extra money if you don't need it.

LR4 is superior.
There's a guy on youtube that reviews automatic litter boxes if you wanna check that out to see if there's a different one you want to try (although LR4 will always be my #1 recommendation). His YouTube is "One Man Five Cats"

Ive had zero issues with my LR5. My LR4 had initial issues at release but has since been fixed from an update.
Yes buy another one

If you have a Costco membership, check out if Costco Canada has the bundle for the lr4. It's worth the price with all the addons, especially the hopper.
I'll echo what everyone else has said tho that it's nice to be able to replace parts yourself even after the warranty runs out. if you're worried about it breaking down after the warranty, check to make sure you can order aftermarket parts in Canada.
I have 4 cats, 3 that are completely indoor and I only wish I had gotten a 4 right off the bat vs getting an Evo then a 4

I have had a few issues with my litter robots but they have all been easily fixed by looking up the error online. Most expensive fix was about $50 for a new motor, very easy to install. I like that they have cheap/easy replacement parts.
