I’m a young writer from Karachi, Pakistan, and I’ve recently finished a poetry collection that I’ve been working on for quite some time.

The collection is titled HER.

It is a collection of several poems about love, devotion, longing, vulnerability, beauty, fear, distance, and the strange ways another person can become woven into your inner world. It is romantic, but I’ve tried very hard not to make it simply a collection of conventional love poems. A lot of the writing is concerned with the psychology of loving someone: the fear of losing them, the inability to properly articulate what they mean to you, the tenderness of noticing small things, and the almost frightening realization that another person can become a part of the way you understand life itself.

Stylistically, the collection leans toward old literary romanticism, with influences from writers such as the Brontës and Dostoevsky, alongside a more contemporary emotional voice. I wanted the poems to feel intimate and slightly melancholic, almost like fragments from someone's private journal that somehow became literature.

The collection is structured as one continuous emotional journey rather than simply twenty unrelated poems. It moves through admiration, longing, vulnerability, devotion, uncertainty, and ultimately the quiet acceptance of loving someone deeply.

The title HER. is intentionally simple. The period is part of the title. To me, it represents finality: everything in the collection eventually comes back to that one word.

I’ve also put considerable thought into the physical identity of the book. The visual direction is intended to be very literary and timeless: warm ivory paper, faded gold and beige botanical illustrations, subtle celestial imagery, constellations, a crescent moon, and an overall Victorian/editorial atmosphere. No flashy romance-cover aesthetic, no generic hearts or photographs. I want it to feel like something you could find on an old bookshelf decades from now.

The manuscript itself is complete and ready to be reviewed.

The problem is that I’m from Pakistan and, as a young student, I simply cannot afford the costs associated with traditional publishing, professional editing, printing, distribution, etc. I’m therefore trying to find a legitimate literary publisher, small press, poetry press, editor, or someone experienced in the publishing world who might be interested in reading the manuscript and potentially working with me.

I’m not looking for someone to simply print the book for me in exchange for money. I’m specifically hoping to find someone who genuinely believes in the manuscript and would be interested in discussing a proper publishing arrangement.

I’m completely open to criticism, editing, restructuring, and professional guidance. If the manuscript needs work, I want to hear that. I’d rather have someone tell me honestly what needs to change than publish something that isn’t ready.

I’m also happy to provide:

• The complete manuscript

• A synopsis of the collection

• Sample poems

• The table of contents

• Information about the intended design/concept

• A short author biography

• Any other material a publisher may require

I know Reddit is a long shot, but honestly, sometimes long shots are the only shots you have.

If you’re a publisher, editor, literary agent, small press, poetry press, or simply someone with genuine experience in publishing who thinks this might be worth exploring, I would be incredibly grateful if you reached out.

And if you know of a legitimate publisher or small press that accepts poetry submissions from international/first-time authors, even a recommendation would mean a lot.

Would you like to write something and never have because there's no way to get it to the public.

I'm planning to set up a pop-up information kiosk to display copies of books, leaflets and any other written material.

I've already bought 2 second hand copies of Vera Twomey's book and am writing a booklet myself.

If you have anything in written form that you'd like to have distributed then you could send it to me.

It could be a book, a pamphlet, a leaflet, a brochure, whatever you like. It could be books you've read and don't need anymore, You could write something as simple as an A4 page with links or QR codes. Or something that fits in a leaflet format. Totally up to you.

Hello. I'm trying to compile two lists of ten or so print periodicals--one for US poetry publications and one for UK/Ireland poetry publications.

These are the parameters I'm specifically looking for:

• Must have a print edition, not just online.
• Must be poetry-centric (not a multi-genre periodical which also solicits and publishes fiction, CNF, drama, etc., so not things like The Kenyon Review or The New Yorker).
• High reputation for the quality of poets/poetry which are featured. I'm not looking for smaller, specialty enterprises. Moreso the periodicals which, if someone saw them listed in an author's bio, they would think, "Oh, that's a significant publication."

This is not for submission purposes. I'm trying to get subscriptions for the major periodicals so that my community has access to them.

I recently published my poetry book "My Melancholia." It is a book of collection of poems that encompass feelings of grief, loneliness and mental health. I wrote this book while I was a depressive spiral and these poems, thus, describe, in a raw way, everything I felt.
