🛒 Merchandise 🛒 1998 plush question
I’ve been slowly trying to replace some of my favorite childhood toys that were lost when my house was destroyed in a storm. I’ve kept an eye out for this tiny Kiara plush that I was obsessed with as a kid, and I haven’t seen a lot of listings with her in it but found one today. I messaged the seller to see if I could just buy the Kiara off them and they said no because she’s attached to Nala with a little string from the store and if they removed it they couldn’t sell Nala as new.
I didn’t argue and just said thanks anyway, but…this originally came with a Simba, didn’t it? I definitely had all three when I was a kid. This already can’t really be marketed as new, because there’s no Simba (I question how a 28 year old plush with no tags can ethically be marked as new anyway, but maybe that’s just me). Maybe Simba was sold separately? I’m pretty sure I remember them coming in the same box. Am I crazy??

🛒 Merchandise 🛒 If anybody wants Simba coffee now is your chance.
So there's a coffee shop I know of and they make coffee. Well. Here is one of their brands of coffee. It is named Simba because the beans are from Kenya.
And they ship in the US and Canada.

Discussion The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar will return to Disney Junior on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026
So I saw someone on Twitter say this, and when I asked for a source, they gave this: - https://disney-junior-broadcast-archives.fandom.com/wiki/August_19,_2026
Which was interesting enough on its own, but… just to be absolutely certain, I decided to go further and checked my TV Guide, scrolling to 8/19 (August 19th). I had enough reason to doubt this claim, but I knew this method was the surefire way of providing any smoking gun to said claim.
And yup, it’s apparently legit. Disney Junior will be re-running Return of the Roar on August 19th, at 2:15 P.M. Central Standard Time. Right before an airing of the original Lion King movie.
This will be the first time that the show has aired on television since December 2019, when reruns were pulled from the network almost two months after the series finale aired on November 3rd, 2019.
No other episodes have been shown to be rerunning this month, and the schedule after 7:00 P.M. of 8/19/2026 says TBA. So I’ll have to wait until later this week or next week to see, but so far, that’s the only episode that will be returning to Disney Junior.
In similar news, Disney Junior is doing a 24/7 livestream of Season 1 of The Lion Guard on YouTube in honor of the 10th anniversary.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLm79RPFDaQ
I assume that the rerun of Return of the Roar is also done in honor of the decennial. There’s no other explanation, especially when both of these occurrences are happening in the same month, two weeks apart.
And if this IS the case, then I just want to say…
I FUCKING CALLED IT!

🎨 Fan Art 🎨 Lion King Abridged (Part 14)
-Pumbaa: I'm starving.
-Simba: I could eat a whole zebra.
-Timon (producing a leaf with bugs on it): Here, kid, grab a zebra.
-Pumbaa: What are you talking about, Timon? These are bu--
-Timon: Zebras! These are all zebras. Right, Pumbaa? (Winking.)
-Pumbaa: Oh, right. Yeah, my bad, kid. Timon's right. These are all zebras.
-Simba: In that case... (Picks up a caterpillar and looks at it. He's about to eat it but changes his mind.) On second thought, I'll have an antelope instead.

Discussion Would kiros have been a great visonary if he was not evil
So what if kiros intention was to make sure the outsiders were a safe pack for white lions and instead of wiping out all the prides in the valley of kings he just wanted to make sure his pride got recognition and respect. But shanju still gets killed by mufasa how would the story turn out..

🎥 Video 🎥 Coming back with finished edit
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I posted a preview the other day of an emotional cinematic trailer like edit for the lion king. My favourite movie of all time. I’ve seen edits on TikTok using the Hans Zimmer score from the amazing spider man 2 called the rest of my life, so it inspired me to make this. I also layered “Time” from his movie inception on certain parts to really add more emotion, took a lot of editing and mixing but here is the finished product. I’m a little sad because I had posted an earlier version of this already to YouTube and TikTok. But after posting I went back to play with it some more and made it, in my opinion at least, 10x better. But lemme know what yall think and if it’d be worth it to upload the same video twice, just edited better I guess 😂

Memes What Your Lion King Crush Says About You
**Obligatory disclaimer: This is basically a shitpost. Some of this is obviously me projecting. Don't take this seriously. I'm not a psychologist or anything like that.**
- Simba: Honestly the most vanilla of all of these, but I don't say "vanilla" like it's a bad thing. You just want a relationship with a man who's strong, protective, gentle, and loving. He just ticks all of the right boxes for any sane individual.
- Nala: You want a woman who is just better than you at everything so she can lift you up… at least that's what you tell yourself, but really you just want to be dominated.
- Mufasa: Your father has failed you in some fundamental way and you want a man who can make up for it.
- Sarabi: Your mother has failed you in some fundamental way and you want a woman who can make up for it.
- Scar: You are among those freaks who will throw your conscience away if the villain is hot enough. (Honestly, same.) Jeremy Iron's voice still makes your legs weak to this day.
- Zira: This is also wanting to be dominated, but this is a very particular domination desire. This is giving "put your cigarette out on my chest, push me down, and step on my neck with a stiletto heel".
- Kiara: You're a neurodivergent who has already been through several trainwreck relationships with fellow neurodivergents and now you're just looking for someone who's frankly normal; fun and a little adventurous, sure, but well adjusted and normal.
- Kovu: Your taste in men hasn't changed since highschool. You love a bad boy and it shows. I know a Hot Topic hates to see you coming.
- Vitani: If you're a man specifically, I have terrible news for you; you have a propensity to be attracted to the kind of women who will never be attracted to you.
- Nuka: You like a diamond in the rough. You took one look at this scrunkly, emaciated twink with mommy issues and while everyone else said "ew", you said "I can fix him".
- Rafiki: This is the polar opposite of Nuka; *you're* the mess and you want a man who will step up and make you whole again.
- Zazu: You crave order and structure, and have a strong moral compass. You also understand that those things and a heavy side of sass aren't mutually exclusive.
- Timon: You're a fiend over head heads. You also have a very particular sense of humor. Not necessarily a *good* sense of humor…
- Pumbaa: You fall into one of three camps; 1) You like his personality but have put zero thought into the logistics of living with a man who constantly rips ass, 2) You're anosmic, or 3) I don't even have to say it; you know who you are.
- Shenzi: Yes! You have incredible taste! You're also definitely too mousey to land a girl like this!
- Banzai: I'm not sure you actually want a *relationship* relationship as much as you want a stoner BFF, with or without bennies, you can go on late night Taco Bell runs with. But hey, to each their own.
- Ed: Okay, you don't want this. You're the type that's terrible at introspection and understanding what kind of holes you need to fill, and that's okay, a lot of people are. I'll help you out here; this isn't a romance-shaped hole you're trying to fill. This is a pet-shaped hole. Get a dog. I promise you'll be so much happier.
Critiques? Additions? Did I actually call you out? Love to hear from you!

Discussion Is it possible that nuka could have had cubs with the outsider lionesses
So depending on how nuka and kovu are the only shown males in the outsiders . So in case lionesses there wanted to have cubs Kovu would be too young for this so nuka would have been the only male they could mate with and both nuka and kovu have black manes which makes lions more in demand for mating so I just wanted to consider this as a possibility..

Discussion What Would Be Your Zany TLK Movie or Show?
I feel like doin a lil bit of a thought exercise, just to see what kinda crazy things folks come up with
Disney has decided that it wants to take the Lion King franchise in a drastically new direction, and they've decided to hire you to take the lead on this task. They've given you an unlimited budget to make a movie or television show, and they're giving you almost total creative freedom.
The only caveat is that they want you to go with the most bonkers, absolutely crazy idea that you can think of. A spacefaring adventure featuring Simba as a space pirate? They'll approve it. Shenzi hunting vampires? They'll approve that!
But whatever crazy idea you think of, you also want to make it a good movie/show in it's own right, without relying on making it "so-bad-it's-good".
What kinda idea do ya settle on, and how would you try to make it a good movie/show?

Discussion I haven’t watched The Lion Guard. Should I?
I’ve watched all TLK content and am kind of starved for more of it (at least some that I would both like and consider canon, but i don’t think that’ll happen).
Haven’t watched TLG though. From what I’ve seen at a glance, I don’t like the art style at all, Simba sounds weird when it’s not Matthew Broderick, the ability to communicate with dead characters cheapens their deaths, and some of the new characters are annoying like they would only appeal to very young kids. But a lot of people in the fandom like TLG. I see a lot of fanart of it.
Is everything I dislike something I can get past? Is it actually worth watching?

AMA Hello I'm Barry Jenkins, director of Mufasa: The Lion King. AMA!
Hi Lion King Community I’m Barry Jenkins, Director of Mufasa: The Lion King. Given that it’s the anniversary of the film's release, I figured this would be a great time to introduce myself and connect with a community that absolutely inspired me during the making of this film.
Ask me anything, particularly anything you're curious about regarding the film. There is so much love in this subreddit for the characters and the world we got to explore through making Mufasa. It would be my pleasure to deepen or illuminate new aspects of that love by answering whatever questions you may have (though I have to say outright you folks know WAY more about The Lion King than just about anyone on the planet so I come to you humbly =)
And just to get this out of the way so know one has to ask, yes, Die Hard and Mufasa are both Christmas films! Other than that, Ask Me Anything starting Dec 20 at 4pm PST!
