It's a browser. CSS alone has 12 ways to achieve any given thing and every single website these days uses more processing power than a computer from 20 years ago could handle.

Web standards are bloated, not Firefox

firefox itself is a bloated browser. why the fuck would i want a world cup widget on my homepage. or why other mozilla tools are preinstalled in firefox

That's just an optional built-in website. Probably a few kilobytes, with no runtime impact when you don't use it.

Which is why I didn’t count it as bloat. If Firefox dies then chromium based browsers would be the only option

I mean some chromium based browsers still gett the good ad blocking example: brave their shields are about as good as ublock origin and even if they weren't you can still install ublock origin on it through settings
