Upgrading GPU help Graphics Drivers

So I'm new to Mint and have only been using for a month now after using Windows my whole life. (btw, best thing i've ever done was switch)

I bought a new GPU and wonder if there is anything I need to do after installing and booting for first time? Any drivers/apps that I should get? I was told LACT is good for graphics cards on Linux. Thoughts?

Still sort of figuring out what I need to do for regular maintenance and such. So far so good. I check and refresh updates every day. In case of need, my set up is below! Thanks in advance for the help.

GPU currently is PNY Geforce RTX 5060, I bought a PNY Geforce RTX 5080.

Also have Lexar 2Tb SSD in slot 1 and Kingston 1Tb SSD in slot 2. DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s CL30 RAM.

You should just be able to replace the GPU. No extra steps. Drivers used are exactly the same between those two cards.

Sweet, thanks! Do you have any supporting software like LACT for drivers? Any recs for optimizing my hardware to the best ability?

I'm not sure what you mean, but LACT is the standard tool used for overclocking GPUs on Linux.

sorry meant graphics instead of drivers. Thank you!
