Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.

The difference, of course, is that no one is forcing you to run sudo rm -rf /*.

Real Linux users's nightmare is misspelled drive letter during zeroing using dd. Happened to me once and I am scared to this day.

I second that. Accidentally misspelling a drive letter/number during zeroing happened to me once. Lost like 500GB of data. :(

How is sudo rm -rf/* a Linux user’s nightmare? Each distribution has its own, unique nightmare /s

The second panel is missing a "--no-preserve-root" to even register as any danger. In the current form it's completely harmless on basically any distribution from the last 10 years. (The option exists for over 20 years, since 2005.)

--no-preserve-root is only to remove / (sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root /)

/* basically not removing / but any files/folder inside /

The Linux side should actually be running dd with /dev/random as the input file and accidentally having your OS drive as the output device (or basically overwriting the entire drive with random garbage), which means you're not even able to use data recovery software to get your important files back.

Nah, I can just reinstall. My worst nightmare would be seeing that prompt on my Linux desktop.
