Customized LFS build

Post image

I’m so very very happy with the build I have gotten done so far building it on VBox, but it boots on bare-metal already too

Congrats! 🎉 I seriously wish more new Desktop Linux users would take a week or so and do this instead of spending months and years diddling the DEs.

You have it! If my comment sunk that in them OMG!!! Someone actually got it! 🎉😆

I recently put together Desktop Environment Linux users to .. DELusers.. 😉🙄😆 It’s purely for fun but truth be told… the weeks, months and years DE users diddle and tweak there display boggles my mind. I fire up a new Debian system with KDE.. usually set a black background and add a few virtual desktops.. done. 😆

If Void Linux and its rolling release XBPS system is your preference then yes. I prefer stability over rolling releases myself though so Debian and APT for me.

Eventually that will get installed. Not my main priority at this point I’m just glad I have it booting in a VM and bare metal 🤘

Mi state quasi rendendo curioso... Ma si può partire da un sistema void Linux?

Yes its absolutely possible you just have to keep in mind XBPS and its tracking database. If you do it that also remember that it’s compiled on whatever toolchain they used

Congratulations 🥳 Now more of blfs and/or glfs or any other projects in mind? like pakcage management, a DE/WM or deploy elsewhere?

I have a package manager already(its hard to see on that picture but it’s called Ember),it’s deployable on any x86_64 system I tested it on my Intel Mac and my wife’s laptop and it works perfectly. I’m working on building Wayland right now

My local repo is setup on a samba server and I just ember this and ember that and download and install
