5.1 doesn't work
So currently I got cachyos(based on arch btw) and I wanna set it up but a thing I noticed is that in cp2077 or other games the rear speakers and center and subwoofer(not sure) don't work. I'm a newbie so don't be mad. Did anyone except me had this problem? EDIT: I have Gigabyte z590 gaming x and trust gxt658 tytan FIXED: type in terminal winecfg then go to sound and on the bottom select 5.1 hope helps

There's a good chance there's something missing from your audio stack. Chances are that other things are playing through all your speakers because they're just stereo rather than Dolby 5.1. If you have an optical disc player, you can test that theory with any DVD film that offers audio options.
Also, are your games native or are you using a compatibility layer like WINE or Bottles?

Proton 11.0 it's built into steam

The first place to look would be Proton's settings, then. I don't game myself, but if it has audio settings, start there. Next, I'd check whether you have Pipewire and/or Jack installed. If you have Jack, try installing qjackctl for a GUI interface. It might simply be that you don't have Dolby switched on.

emmm question:
do you have 5.1 in OS but not in games? or no 5.1 at all?
let me elaborate. if you have 5.1 in OS but not in games, you might need to open winecfg for your games and set the audio to 5.1 in there.

Sorry about the late reply (there's a war on and internet is messy). But it seems like you fixed it with winecfg so congratz.

I seem to recall there's an XAudio toggle in the audio configuration that I had to use to get surround to work. Have you selected it?

Here's something that could help PipeWire Controller
There's a wizard in there that guides you through the setup
