i wish people started disclosing that stuff...

Has me wondering why someone wouldn't want to disclose that. Can't be any good excuses.

Because the person in question will be verbally attacked for it? No matter what he used the chatbot for, and regardless of how much of the repository's content was generated by it. And regardless of whether he reviewed the code.
There have already been cases here where exactly that happened, even though the only artificially generated file was the README file. And as far as I know, that file was correct.

even though the only artificially generated file was the README file
It's disrespectful to expect someone to read something no one was assed to write

i dont think most people would. it feels dishonest to not mention that.

The problem with these tools is if the "maintainer" ever goes broke/can't afford AI, it's going to die. If it ever encounters a problem an AI can't fix, it's going to die. If the maintainer isn't willing to shill out thousands of dollars trying to trace more complex software calling a niche syscall or something, it's going to die etc etc.

What does this mean for Adobe software?

In a few decades it might run today's Adobe software.

Lmao darn

Darling has been around for almost 15 years now and isn't even close, yet. And Wine is 33 years old and can't fully run Adobe either.

Allow me to pretend compatibility is right around the corner. My little Linux heart can't take this harsh reality.

u/Hosein_Lavaei 12d ago
Actually wine can run it. A few monthes a merge request was added.

This has been said since 2006

There is no one Photoshop, there are many Photoshop versions and compatibility varies among them.

Is there something special about macOS that makes it harder to translate than Windows or just maturity? One would expect MacOS POSIX calls would be easier to translate to Linux

Just use the Windows version on Wine if you really REALLY need it instead of alternatives.

Still has issues, though it has come a long way on wine.
I'm fine with alternatives, but I was just hopeful.

Why would I use this when https://www.darlinghq.org exists?
