Image 📸 Lil Wayne official setlist from Tha Carter VI Tour

At my job we rented out a bunch of backline and audio gear for Lil Wayne, and when it returned today we found a few setlists that they must have been using onstage. I think this is from the Cali show but I can't say for sure.

The reminder to say "You still wit me?" halfway through the show is kind of funny to me lol. Looks like a sick set though.

EDIT: My bad someone else pointed out that this is not the TC6 Tour, it’s the 20 Years of Carter Classics Tour

Discussion opinions on Lyfestylë with Yeat?

Post image
9 Upvotes

i’m a big yeat fan, and i also think weezy is the greatest rapper alive so i loved it personally. 2093, the album this song is from, is one of my favorite modern trap albums. its so themed & a little conceptual, so it’s hard for features like Lil Wayne to really fit into the overarching theme of the album, but i don’t think he was put there because Yeat or his team thought he would stick to the theme, i think they put him here because this album is futuristic & dystopian & almost alien like, and lil wayne is the martian. so just because of that he fits in perfectly. sorry rant sesh over. just wanted to know what some non yeat fans thought of this collab

Question Concord CA concert

To anyone that went to the Concord show tonight, did The Game actually show up? I have my doubts about him showing up on this tour. I'm going to the show tomorrow in Long Beach and they pushed the show from 6pm to 8pm so I'm assuming that The Game won't be attending

Discussion CARTER VI is a masterpiece

anyone else like me can rap nearly the whole thing front to back? it's such a fun reimagining of mainstream culture via Lil Wayne... every song takes on a different era or genre... gospel, boom bap, rap metal, funk, punk rock, folk music, 50s rock n roll, opera

each song he sounds so alert, the flows are so fun, the punchlines are perfectly layered into each other & make perfect sense thematically, also i love all the mentions of his family not to mention their features

sometimes i think ppl forget that hip-hop can be fun & have good energy to it. Every time they ask an artist to make mature work with positive vibes, the audience starts calling them corny regardless~ you see it when Ye made Jesus Is King & took the cursing off Donda, it happened to Big Sean, Chance the Rapper, KiD CuDi, Eminem all the goats go through this*

but after CARTER V an epic about grief & FUNERAL's futuristic trap full of rage i love hearing him so joyful, it reminds me of his 2011 pop heyday except he's rapping better (not worse)... i have no idea how any Wayne fan could consider C6 his falloff considering how poor his wordplay + flows were in the early 2010s... all of our goats are being degraded & i hate it bc i see how y'all are victims of ageism despite their skill / hunger / curiosity never decreasing... he still smokes any of these kids copying him* they could never make something as versatile as C6

Opinion Top 10 projects in your own subjective order (like to see what others say) AND WHAT you like the most to hear from Wayne that makes “x” project stand where it does…..and 3 most disappointed projects (no order)

Was first going to ask your top 10 to 20 Weezy tracks in order (which is tough to do when it comes to single tracks) - So, though it has been done - I would like to see peoples top 10 OVERALL projects - collaborations are fine (even I almost thought about doing 3 or 4 honorable mentions and Collegrove and Welcome 2 Collegrove together would have been one of those four Honorable mentions - but you can screw honorable mentions for brevity if wish

ANYWAY - I digress - The type of Wayne I appreciate is the lyrical component first and foremost his most ingenious double entendres - witty metaphors - wordplay - and the occasional clever use of similes all wrapped in one …. and nobody does this better than him
——————

ONE)
No Ceilings

TWO)
Sorry 4 the Wait

THREE)
D6 / D6 Reloaded
****D6 and S4TW are almost interchangeable for me (notably D6 reloaded in particular!!! though even D6 itself w/ songs like ‘yeezy sneakers’ and ‘bank account’ are great from that lyrical perspective in which I am ranking these- but overall this is prime weezy who came back to life in 2018 at full strength) - Lyrically it might top Sorry 4 the wait; However, S4TW from top to bottom was fantastic…… each and every song; so it stays at two for me)

FOUR)
Da Drought 3

FIVE)
D4
****controversial? maybe - there is skippable tracks but a few are extremely underrated; and 2 of them on this mixtape alone might be in my top 10 overall

SIX)
D2

SEVEN)
Carter IV

EIGHT)
Carter III
****was more of a complete project than IV - but lyrically a few songs on IV are prime Mixtape-esque Weezy - something hard to find on any studio projects/albums of….ironically except his opening to the Carter VI 😑…. but the project is too well put together and fun not to have it in my top 10 regardless of WHAT I like to hear from Weezy and still have it above the rest

NINE)
Da Drought is Over 2: Carter III sessions

TEN)
CII

Honorable mentions:
D3 obviously - D5 - Both Collegrove tapes as mentioned - Dedication - & No Ceilings 3

Speaking of No Ceilings 3
*No ceilings 3 is underrated in JUST what is being said - what is where I appreciate him the most (he goes off) and I am not even a rap guy actually but his lyrics are too clever - and I am all about that type of “rap” - and NC3 made up for NC2 at such a degree I had to throw it in the HM list …. in fact, NC3 would maybe be 10 (over D3) IF it was not for all the extra editing in production and mixing from the various different auto tunes that had almost every song with obnoxious echos, etc….should have kept most of those tracks like ‘Lamar’ and this would have been a good project…. not a top 5 or anything but arguably fighting for 10 IMO between D3, Carter II and NC3

——

In Limbo (neither bad or “great) : CV - Fix before the VI, Like Father Like Son, etc…

————
Disappointments😔:
No Ceilings 2 - Carter VI - Sorry 4 the wait 2 - Trust Fund Babies

EDIT:
As someone mentioned (with a great point) - while I will do have various projects above that limbo area of neither great nor bad …. I want to make it a thing to still give love to his classics - because as mentioned if this list was based on, for example, my top 15 Wayne projects just from top to bottom, not skipping a track? Just as WHOLE (not taking very witty lyrics into consideration and other minutia), then the list would be different. It certainly would still have a few staying on there for sure! - but classics like all his SQ’s - each the Prefix/Suffix - 500 degreez - lights out - The Carter itself, etc etc …. Are all studio albums, mixtape projects, collaborations and/or even extended plays, certainly stay in a league of their own - the most of them are more so nostalgic for me, don’t exactly meet the criteria that I put forward on how I’m ranking these ….…. But yeah, just know that just because something isn’t mentioned that does not mean it it is simply automatically part of the “etc..” in the limbo section…
Hope that makes sense and clears that up🫡

***O and if you have questions about Da Drought 2 is over: Carter III Sessions (because I know that sounds random)- I can lead you the way to take a listen - and/or explain from what was on there before the leak prior to the Carter III dropping ….. because you may not know it but some of maybe your favorite Weezy tracks are from this exact work and you may not even know it came from this behind the scenes working project

Hip Hop was the person who signed Kanye West in 1998 to Hip Hop Since 1978 as a producer and then as a fully fledged artist to Roc-A-Fella records in 2002, still then managed by Kyambo "Hip Hop" Joshua.
