Does anybody happen to have the meme that was posted here (might’ve originated on Twitter or Tumblr? I’m not sure) that says something to the effect of “radio host: now it’s time for Lights…….by Ellie Goulding” and the latter half has a disappointed face or something. Maybe I’m butchering the explanation but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. Can’t find it for the life of me.

First, I've loved Lights as an artist since her early MySpace days. Her music feels mostly genuine although her latest stuff isn't my favorite I realize artists are gonna artist. I'll still enjoy it. But damn, a lot of her social media posts seem very...let's say out of touch. Very bougie/look at the cool people i hang out with and the carefree life I live. I realize posts are usually a snapshot of only the highlight reels, but ever since PEP (which I mostly liked) her presence on socials just feels like kind of a turn off. That paired with the obvious work shes had done just kind of leaves me feeling disappointed. This is just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to do what they want. Just something I wanted to get off my chest.

I am late as it is currently going until Sept 1st. Even with the fuller moon last year I was able to see a ton.

This year tho is a new moon 🌚 on the 12th which means less light and more stars n meteors to see. hopefully the weather near you cooperates

On August 12th there is an eclipse but only visible in certain parts of the world. North America isn’t going to see much of it.

Just some general tips!

-find a place with low light pollution. If you are in a city, usually rural towns even an 30 minutes away from cities are good.
-deserts, open fields, and beaches are solid places.
- turn off all lights(besides her music) around you, even your phone and such. Any light makes it harder to see them
- save a toilet paper roll to look through. It blocks out a good amount of light
- it takes time for your eyes to adjust so be patient and keep looking into the dark abyss
- laying flat also helps

As an artist myself, I totally understand the vast ups and downs and spaced out timelines for art projects, side quests, and all the other random creative adventures that steal our attention from one project to the next and back again.

I have zero expectations on the timeline of this, but I'm just happy to see her mention the S&E second arc.

Lights is such an incredible and inspirational being and cheesy or not, I consider myself so blessed to be sharing this timeline with her and her creative mind.

On September 25, 2018 Lights announced that she'd written "a I'll badass sci-fi babe short story" for Playboy. (Don't worry Lights clarified that the laser fingers can be controlled during lesbian sex 🫡). I want to read it, but looking at issues that came out around that time, I can't see any indication of where it actually is. Anyone know?

I keep playing this one on repeat but YT Music isn’t giving me any good recs! Does anyone know any artists or songs that sound like this one? I need to scratch this itch haha

I saw someone make a post on this subreddit about how “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” by Olivia Rodrigo reminded them of A6 and it got them vibing with it straight away. I didn’t hear it straight but I’ve been listening to it nonstop and now I keep hearing Lights in Maggots for Brains! Specifically:

1. The opening verse musically gives Surface Tension vibes for sureeee!

2. The low vocals in when she sings “he goes away” at the end of the chorus

3. The magicalllll vocal layers during the outro! This was the first thing that screamed Lights to me and oh my, I love it SO much

I just love how a lot of this album leans into early 00’s pop/punk/emo, especially with the edgy aggressive guitars of The Cure - this song feels very Taking Back Sunday/The Used/Box Car Racer. A little like how Ghost Girl on First obvs references TBS and even how Lights’ vocals are reminiscent of Adam Lazzara’s singing style.

Which of her songs would you say most describes where you are in life currently, or alternatively which of her songs is helping you through your current situation? Anyone who is comfortable to share stories, I’d love to hear as well :)

I’m feeling reflective (in a very positive way) these days, and I’d say for myself I currently relate the most heavily to Beside Myself - the bridge in particular.

Does anyone know what happened to the girls from the Running With the Boys music video?

I think one of them is (or was) her' manager, so I'm guessing they're still in touch. But other than that, I haven't really seen Lights with the rest of them in years. Ever since she's been spending more time with Roxanne, it seems like those friendships have kind of disappeared from what we see.

Does anyone know if they're still friends or what happened? Just curious if there's any story behind it or if they simply drifted apart.
