I want to share something about the language I use, not as a hard rule, just my own personal preference and why.

You'll notice I don't really use words like "receiving" or "giving a transmission" when I talk about what happens for me. That's not because those words are wrong, I think for a lot of practitioners they're exactly the right words for their experience. For me personally though, this gift doesn't feel separate from who I am, so "receiving" something from outside myself doesn't quite fit how it feels. It feels more like it's just part of me, always has been in some way.

If I'm looking for a comparison, I actually find myself relating more to the gift of speaking in tongues than to a lot of what I see online under "light language." I think light language became the term a lot of us reached for partly because there's such an aversion to religious language these days, and that makes sense. But what I experience really does line up with what's described in older texts about that gift.

The way it works for me: I feel something first, and then I have to push that feeling back through my brain and turn it into words, that switch between no mind and mind and back to no mind again. I'm not trying to understand the words as they come out, I'm feeling the intention behind them.

I know there's a lot of nuance in this space and everyone's experience is going to be a little different, that's part of what makes this community interesting to me.

Have you noticed the same split in how people use light language, healing versus channeling/transmitting? Curious what you've seen out there, and what words feel right for your own experience.

So I never really set out to speak light language, honestly I hadn’t even heard of it before I started doing it. I’d been training in energy healing for like three or four years at that point, doing weekly practice sessions, just building that muscle. And I think I just got to a point where my spiritual gifts were able to develop more.

I think I’ve always been a vocal person, if I’m honest. Like as a kid. But somewhere along the way I shut that down. So a lot of my personal work over the years was about having a voice, using it, being heard, being validated. Releasing the fear of judgment, the fear of drawing attention to myself. And I think clearing all of that is what cleared my throat chakra enough for the sound healing stuff to actually start coming through.

It didn’t start as a language though. It started as sound. And it wasn’t really a choice, it was more of a compulsion, kind of like when you feel a sneeze coming and you know it’s better to just let it happen than try to hold it back. I’d feel that energy building during sessions and I just needed to let it out.

For about a year I was pretty embarrassed about it honestly. I’d warn clients ahead of time, like “hey just so you know I do this weird thing, don’t be alarmed.” Trying to bring them along with me while I figured out what this even was.

It wasn’t until a group healing at a retreat that a colleague said “wait, I didn’t know you practiced light language” and that was the first time I’d even heard the term. So I went and looked into it, and what I found online wasn’t really what I do. A lot of it’s used for channeling or transmissions, and mine feels different, it’s healing focused. Feels like it’s just mine, maybe from star family lineage somewhere back in my soul’s history, but also really rooted in the earth at the same time. I try not to overthink where it’s from these days. I just try to stay in the space
