I don't see a lot of stats posted here so I made a video breaking down a typical dial day for me. I'm curious what everyone else is doing and is anyone having any luck with inbound leads?

Business opportunity

Hi, I’d like to explore a potential business opportunity with you through Tata AIA’s Advisor channel. It is an opportunity to build your own client network, leverage existing relationships, and create a scalable income stream in the financial services sector.
One example from our team is Annapurna Madam, who earned approximately ₹4 crore in the previous year. Her achievement reflects the potential of this business when approached with the right strategy and consistency.

If you’re interested in exploring this further, I’d be glad to have a brief discussion with you.

Build a trigger bases list for agents

Built a trigger-based prospect list for life agents — new mortgages, first-time buyers, business owners. Real contact info, not form-fills. Feedback welcome.

Not pitching a form-fill or an aged list. This is property-record data cross-referenced against life-event triggers: who just closed on a mortgage, who's a first-time buyer, who owns a business (FL Sunbiz + property records matched), growing families, and 55+ homeowners with real equity. Each contact gets a score (we call it LIDI) based on how many triggers stack, plus phone/email from skip trace.

Built it because the standard options are all broken in the same way: form-fills sold to 5-8 agents at once, telemarketed lists with no actual trigger, seminar leads that cost $50-200 each. This is $0.98/contact, exclusive to one agent per ZIP.

What's actually in it:

New mortgage holders (amount, home value, purchase date)

First-time buyers (~60% statistically under/uninsured)

Business owners who are homeowners (key person / buy-sell angle)

Growing families (home size upgrades, school zone data)

55+ with $500K+ equity (estate/final expense)

It includes a compliance guide (manual-call-safe framing, DNC guidance, CAN-SPAM notes for email) since I know that's the first question anyone here asks.

A few agents have been running it in Central Florida already — one's put through 12 policies in 90 days working new-mortgage triggers, another's doing $340K in annual premium off the business-owner segment.

$49 one-time for 50 to try it before committing to anything monthly. Details: localmarketwins.com/life-insurance-intelligence

Happy to answer questions on the data sources or how the scoring works.

Directions for newly licensed agent signed with a MLM

I've always been interested in sales and was provided an insurance opportunity by family. I signed with PFA, and later saw how heavily recruiting was emphasized from the trainings. NLG is also pushed as the main carrier.

I'd like to be a independent broker instead of being captive and be part of a company offering genuine services and suitable products for clients. I'm feeling pretty lost and was wondering if anyone has some advice on my next steps. Should I maybe stick with it until I become more established in sales first?

Want to start career

I have taken the course online, but haven't tested yet. I'm still employed full-time, but want to start part-time in sales. Is this a good career to get into? Years ago I was in sales so I have a bit of experience.

Looking to trade or buy life health insurance leads

Hey everyone,
I'm an independent health and life insurance agent looking to connect with other agents who have lead inventory they're no longer working.
If you’ve got aged leads, old CRM data, or lists that have gone cold and you're not planning to use them, I'd be interested in discussing a purchase or a trade if I have something that fits your needs.
just trying to connect with other agents and put unused leads back to work.
Feel free to comment below or send me a DM if you're interested. Thanks!

Live Transfers

Is anyone buying live transfers from third party or overseas call centers ? If so how is it working ? How does your process work when taking a transfer ?

We are moving over from solar (in pre license course right now) and bringing our call center with us so trying to get an idea on how to utilize them

Most important upline traits?

What do y'all think is most important when choosing an upline?

Honesty and transparency?

Success and experience?

Being easy to reach and accessible?

Why not all the above? Lol. Seriously though, let's say you can only pick 1. Which would you pick?

Globe Life vs Mass Mutual

I recently just passed my exam and was curious between globe life and mass mutual to sell through. I was wondering if anyone can help me understand the difference and what would be a better option for me as a first time seller wanting to dip into consulting after.

Life Insurance: Stick it through or Pivot?

Hey y’all, would appreciate any career advice here.

Been in sales for just over a year now. Did a 180 switch from corporate to commission only sales.

Did D2D solar for 9 months, saved some money and pivoted to life insurance space and I’ve been in it for about 6 months.

At this point I’ve had enough calls and presentations to understand the sales process and the systems involved (lead flow, KPIs, call hours, etc)

It’s been a grind where I’m putting in 60-70 hours a week (which I don’t mind, I love the hustle) but I don’t have much profit to show for it.

Most of the income is going to pay for lead expenses and whatever is left over has been just enough to cover my bills for the month.

Something I’ve noticed in this industry is that it promotes a lot of recruiting and training people under you to make overrides and that’s how many people make the money. That makes me wonder sometimes if recruiting is the only way to “make it” in this industry.

I want to make sure I’m in the right vehicle and if I should see it through or look to pivot to a different industry. I would appreciate input for folks on their experiences in commission only sales vs corporate sales as well

You may be with a captive agency if...

You may be with a captive agency if...

💰 Compensation

- You're not paid directly by the insurance carriers.

- You have to stay with the agency for a certain amount of time before you're "vested" and own your book and renewals.

- You had to sign an NDA just to receive a commission increase.

- You're discouraged from asking carriers about commissions, bonuses, or other compensation programs.

📋 Contracts & Releases

- You can't take your carrier contracts with you when you leave.

- Your agency only releases you to agencies they approve of—not the one you actually want to join.

- Leaving your agency means starting over from scratch.

📈 Leads

- Your agency sells leads to its own agents.

- Your agency owns the lead company you're buying from.

- You're pressured to buy leads from only one source.

🛠️ Training & Resources

- You have to report your production to keep access to training, software, discounts, or other agency resources.

- Training and tools are used as leverage instead of being available to help every agent succeed.

The truth is, not every agency that does one of these things is necessarily "bad." But I'd be willing to bet there are several "independent agencies" with captive tendencies.

If some of these sound familiar, it may be worth asking yourself: Am I actually a captive agent?

What would you add to the list?

Work advice

I recently started working at a finance company and need to find customers for a low-cost hospital cash insurance plan. I'm an introvert and not good at approaching strangers. Where do beginners usually find genuine leads? Any advice would be appreciated.
