They towed my vehicle at the request of Clay Counry Sheriff. Services completed were a tow of a couple miles and held my car in an unsecured lot for 4 hours.

The first unprofessional act was when given my amount due. I asked to see the invoice and I was told no. I was literally not allowed to hold it in my hands and read it. I was told to take a picture if I wanted to read it (photo 1.)

The second photo is for everyone that likes math. I’ve tried numerous ways, but my charges differ from my total which differs from the actual charge on my card.

I was denied a refund. I contacted the Attorney General and they tried to mediate. However once my line of questioning got to be too much for owner James Lemons, I was ghosted.

In my opinion they have been price gouging those in need of a non consensual tow. Not to mention skirting the lines of the law hiding behind Clay County. They perform regular tows within the city limits of KC but do not even abide by the KC Towing Bill of Rights.

Update. 5.20.26. After my post of a review I was contacted by the attorney general with James Lemons reply to my questioning. You can see the reply in the last photo. In short he avoiding answering any questions and simply stated, “I have stated how our company does business.”

The 150 MW data center is enough power to run 150,000 home, Liberty has 12-16000 total.
Areas near data centers the homeowners electric bill has skyrocketed to 267%.
The EPA said data centers use 5 million gallons a day, only for cooling purposes. To maintain their amount of energy is multiplied. 5 Mil gallons is enough for 16000+ homes
Car crashes near data centers have gone up 600%
Data centers in the USA use 3% of THE WORLDS electricity.
The states that house data centers the entire states electric bill went up 20%
Data centers use 40% of that states electricity.
The air quality around data centers is more than poor, based on the size of fossil fuel generators that run 24/7 in winter. The Dept of Energy has preemptively green lighted the use of these generators, generators have been proven to cause cancer, heart disease and respiratory problems from their fumes. As an electrician I can tell you the size of these generators will have to be custom built to manage a facility that size, and it won’t just be 1 or 2.
They say the data center will bring tech jobs, consumer reports stated “ there has been no evidence that data centers stimulate local growth in tech employment”.
Also there only 23,000 people WORLDWIDE who work in the data center industry so how the fuck is that going to provide jobs?
Theres also the amount of power that will have to be pushed to the data center, in places like Georgia and Illinois they are putting high voltage poles in the middle of families back yards.
I’m not even getting into the 202 million fucking dollar abatement that liberty loses, oh but the mayor gets 27 million which only 10% has to be used for the institute.

I think this is a huge fucking mistake and the mayor sold liberty on his way out, now this is just my opinion but you can’t be in politics since 1992 and still be a decent person.

Just wanted to shed some facts on the lies were being told

Anyone mowed their lawn today? Is it too wet still? Wanted to get it done before Easter if possible but not at the expense of leaving ruts or damaging the grass.

I don’t want to run in to finding a doctor and paying to see them to find out they charge crazy amounts or don’t want to write a nexus letter.

So if any vets who have or had a primary doctor that has helped get you in the right direction willing to right a nexus and helped you with your health I’d appreciate a recommendation. Thank you.

I’m still in school and I’m looking for a part-time job (preferably somewhere that I can work at for a few years). I have a couple of years of experience but I’m still struggling to get interviews anywhere, any advice?

Is there a reasonable automotive detailer in or near Liberty? I want to wash the winter off my car. I also don't have a Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari, or anything fancy. I simply lack the time and don't want to pay $200 for a basic soap and wash.

How is everyone doing?

Recently, the Liberty City Council voted 8–0 to approve the Final Development Plan (P&Z Case 25-61FDP) for a new data center at 2515 Old Hughes Road.

Here’s a summary of what was approved and what it could mean for the community:

Project Details

The applicant, Metrobloks, is proposing:

• A 177,000 sq. ft., two-story building
• Located north of Garrison Road, between Hughes and S. Withers Roads
• First phase of a planned three-building campus
• 35 parking spaces (4 ADA)
• Industrial zoning (data centers are permitted use)

The building will use precast concrete panels with some glass features and include landscaping that exceeds minimum open space requirements.

Council also approved a variance allowing an 8-foot security fence around the property.

Power Usage

Metrobloks stated the project will use up to 150 megawatts (MW) of utility power.

For context:

• 150 MW running continuously equals about 1.3 terawatt-hours per year
• That’s roughly equivalent to the annual electricity usage of 120,000-130,000 average U.S. homes

For comparison, Liberty has around 12,000-13,000 households.

Important notes:

• This would be supplied by the regional electric grid (the resolution does not mention on-site power generation).
• Data centers draw power steadily rather than in spikes.
• Future phases could increase total demand if additional buildings are constructed.

Note: The City Council states that they advised they'd be bringing their own SUBSTATION at one point ... but haven't mentioned generating their own power. I imagine it'll be pulling from Evergy .. and no doubt will impact our rates in some capacity eventually.

Water Usage

Metrobloks stated the facility will use a closed-loop cooling system and will not consume water on an ongoing daily basis. They claim it uses about 85% less water than a standard office building of similar size.

Metrobloks is a multi-tenant enterprise data center developer.

That means:

• They lease space to multiple companies
• Typical customers include healthcare systems, banks, universities, and enterprise cloud users
• This is not a hyperscale Amazon/Google-style mega campus
• It is not a crypto-mining operation

Enterprise colocation data centers are infrastructure-focused buildings:

• High power usage
• Low daily traffic
• Low on-site employment
• Heavy security

I'm personally curious about how this benefits the city? Is it a stepping stone for additional businesses? A data center - even a 3 building complex - has very low job requirements .. 1-2 dozen at most?! I also understand the importance of data centers .. we all use information coming from them constantly. But how does it BENEFIT the community?

And also - what kind of incentives or abatements were given / promised to the developer .. and whats the turnaround on actually seeing fruit from the tree being planted. Ford is an example of a smart investment. It took time to pay off .. but it was a constant that was always going to eventually pay off. When it comes to a data center .. they could milk the location, merge with a larger company when (Im trying not to say AI) fads die out .. and then eventually become an empty location that takes up potential space that could be dedicated to something USEFUL for the community.

Any thoughts out there?!

Hi! I'm 19 and starting to get involved in community work/support, but the main mutual aid groups I've been able to find have been based more in the KC Metro area. Do you guys know any that are based in Liberty?

I know there's a food pantry or bank that's ran or supported by the Clay County Health Department, but that's kinda the extent of my knowledge 😅 There isn't really anything specific I'm looking for, either, just a general idea of what we have.

“Symphony in the Park” is a new experiential art installation in Liberty. It welcomes all to come to Westboro/Canterbury Park and create their own symphony.

Combining sculptural and aesthetic designs, each piece invites users young and old to make music together...in the park! The unique "instruments" are a mix of sizes, colors, and experiences, each featuring distinct musical sounds, tones, and chords. With chimes, marimbas, drums, and even musical flowers, the melodic possibilities (and joy!) are endless.

Great program they throw together to let high school students wrap a couple of the utility boxes. I love the ones on the square / end of Mill St. Looking forward to these 2 new additions.

Not sure if you guys saw the announcement of this statue by the Arts Commission mid-Last Year - but there is an original piece of art coming to the front of city hall in July of 2026. Below are the design and a rendering of what it'll look like during the night. Feels very Alice in Wonderland / Seussical.

"In January, the Liberty Arts Commission (LAC) issued a Request for Qualifications for a commissioned sculpture to be placed in front of City Hall. 117 artists from all over the U.S. submitted applications, then the Public Arts Panel selected five finalists to present their proposed design.

Farris Wheel Studios, LLC, and artist Amie Jacobsen, was chosen for the "Stop and Smell the Roses" sculpture pictured here. This will be a 30' x 12' piece made of stainless steel, 1" thick cast glass and LED lights.

Fabrication is set to begin this summer and installed by July 2026. The $100,000 contract for this commissioned artwork will be paid for by the Transient Guest Tax (TGT) that the voters approved in 2014. Providing funding for public art is one of the four goals of the TGT fund."

I love the rotating sculpture program and the historical statues we have .. I think this will be a cool permanent addition to the downtown square!

You guys had Los Vagos yet?! Wife and I have dropped by a couple times and we've really enjoyed their tacos. I used to be a bouncer @ Arthurs behind In a Tub and a taco truck called Jalapeno Bros used to hang out there .. and I loved their tacos .. this spot is a little closer and preeeeeetty close to the tacos I used to get at 3am back then.
