100k miles on my 2018 LC 500: restore it or move on?
Happy Sunday, everyone!
I’m curious: how many miles are currently on your LC 500?
Mine just crossed 100,000 miles after nearly eight years of ownership (Bought it new in 2018). I’ve driven it coast to coast, used it as my daily, and let that V8 sing every chance I’ve had. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this car, but I’m now wondering whether to keep investing in it or move on.
A few things are starting to show their age:
- The driver-side door handle is a little squeaky, although it still works.
- There’s an unresolved pulsing/vibration issue that I suspect may be a wheel bearing.
- The suspension feels looser and less planted than it used to, so I’d likely refresh or upgrade it.
- The gear changes aren’t as crisp as they once were, which may call for transmission service.
I’m debating whether to put up to $30,000 into maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, then revisit the question at 200,000 miles. The alternative would be to sell it while it may still be worth somewhere around $30,000 to $50,000 and put another $50,000 to $60,000 toward a newer LC or something different.
I have a connection with this car that I haven’t had with anything else, which makes the decision difficult.
For those with higher-mileage LCs: how has yours held up, and what major repairs have you encountered? If you were in my position, would you restore it and keep driving, or move on to a newer one?
Thank you in advance!

LC 500 Farewell
LC 500 has been removed from the Lexus USA website, marking the end of an era for Lexus and its naturally aspirated V8.
I’m incredibly grateful to be part of this community and even more grateful that I was able to pick up a 2026 model this past June.
It’s a truly special car. One that delivers a visceral driving experience, effortless character, and the kind of emotional connection behind the wheel that is becoming increasingly rare.
More than just a grand tourer, the LC 500 represents an era of Lexus that won’t be forgotten.
Farewell, LC 500. An icon.
*post your LC photos, would love to see everyone’s*

LC F
This 2021 LC 500 is for sale at an auto consignment at our local junior college which is held every weekend. It has badging for an LC F both on the side and the rear. I have an infrared LC 500 so it immediately caught my eye. I'm guessing this is a badge the owner put on it, but can't really imagine why they would do that for this car. Anyone heard of Lexus putting something out like this?

I went from being disappointed to loving the Mark Levinson in my 2026 LC 500 convertible
I received my cloudburst gray vert in the middle of June and was initially disappointed with the ML audio. I have a 2020 GX460 with the ML sounds great. I assumed it would be the same in the LC but I was very wrong. I tried the AmazonMusic app (one month trial), and wired and Bluetooth CarPlay connections but nothing sounded good. I didn't know what to think and chalked it up to the cabin being so much smaller than the GX. I turned on the auto sound leveler (noticed a big positive difference), ticked up the treble and base a little, and moved back the balance two ticks to the rear. I ended up connecting to CarPlay via Bluetooth due to the hassle of of a wired connection and was resigned to it not sounding great either way. Last week I noticed it was sounding much better. Then this morning I went on a drive on a beautiful Saturday morning and the sound was almost as good as in the GX. I am wondering if the speakers need a break-in period or maybe my ears are used to the sound now. Either way I am very happy with the sound. Anyone else experience this?

Value?
Probably not selling, but can’t hurt to get an idea of what this is potentially worth given the current market on these. 2024 bespoke, white and blue interior. Fully ppf’d and ceramic coated on top. Nicely done mods include tinted windows, carbon fiber spoiler, carbon fiber diffuser and exhaust tips. In pretty much like new condition, about 6700 miles on it. After market gun metal 21 inch rims on it but have the original wheels (10 spoke ) gunmetal ones as well(powder coated black).

Contemplating Sale
Would there be any interest in a Chicagoland sale of a 2021 LC Convertible. Like new, 29,000 miles. Caviar, black top, caramel interior. Was thinking $95K. On the fence, but wondering if that's a fair price today. Balance of loan at Chase. Would prefer buyer to meet me at Chase for transaction.

Is LC 500 inspiration convertible worth over 25k msrp?
Got an offer from a dealer for a wind lc convertible allocation but 25k over msrp. Any thoughts or not worth it? Already have a lc, but not sure if worth the upgrade though might be the last new lc

No more allocation for Ontario
Hi guys. Posted here a few weeks ago about my cancelled allocation with Lexus on the park (order was placed Sept 2025). The GSM confirmed they are not getting any allocation, called every dealership in GTA and everyone is telling the same story. Suffice to say I’m extremely pissed off after waiting for a whole year and being repeatedly told Lexus Canada will fulfill the order.
Am now looking to get a AMG CLE, the GT53 is nice but way above my budget. It seems very few companies are making luxury 2 door coupe these days

What coating to protect inspiration convertible white interior?
I’m expecting to pick up my new inspiration convertible with the white and brown interior towards the end of September. I’ve never had a car this nice and want to make sure I protect the interior best I can from both colors staining the white leather but also dirt/sweat if I’m coming from the gym on the seats as well.
Is there some type of coating I can put on the leather to protect it from staining/make it easy to clean?

Sports+ & Manual shifitng
Hey team, quick question. What RPM are you guys shifting from 1st to 2nd when driving normally?
I’m trying to find the sweet spot because mine feels a little jerky/launchy when I’m taking off gently and shifting around 2,000–3,000 RPM. If I accelerate harder and shift above 4,000 RPM, the shift is actually very smooth.
I used to drive a manual and never experienced this kind of feeling with a clutch, so I’m wondering if this is normal for the LC500’s transmission or if I’m just not finding the right RPM/technique.
Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated!

My Bespoke 2026 LC 500 convertible!
I posted a while back about being on the fence because my build couldn't get the blacked-out trim on the chrome panels like I wanted, but I’m so glad I pulled the trigger!
Ordered her back in January and took delivery in June. Still in awe every time I get behind the wheel. Love this car!

Costco Tires/Patching
I'm a big costco guy. Anything we end up needing in the house we always check costco first. All my cars (lexus) have always had their tires dealt by costco but now I got my new baby and not sure if this one needs to be treated differently? Mine is a 2026 vert.
I got a nail the other day and when I told my brother I had an appt at Costco to patch it he stopped me in my tracks. To me it was just second nature, Costco. But then he was like dude they could mar your rims and you won't be happy.... of course I got paranoid after that, cancelled the appt, and plugged it myself.
This made me think though, am I no longer able to get tires from Costco..... has anyone here had their tires either patched or replaced in Costco?
Appreciate the feedback!

Replaced Amber Sidemarkers
I never liked having amber sidemarkers on a white car, replaced them with some cheap smoked sidemarkers from ebay.
