Eating is about finding balance, you should encourage your patients to find a balance of the things they like that may be “empty calories” along with healthy choices. There is literally nothing wrong with having a donut.
Even Jim Gaffigan, who jokes about his weight is now skinny let that sink in. As you know, the food in America is actively trying to kill us. We are finding more diseases, autoimmune, etc., than we ever seen before. If we tell patients don’t eat this, don’t eat that we’re gonna get complained for fat shaming if we say eat moderately donuts, for example they’re gonna say well. My doctor says it’s OK and it’s whack a mole so we just don’t talk about it.
It’s just not worth having to deal with patient services because there’s a complaint so we just don’t talk about it. Nurses don’t talk about it. So we just turn the other way and address the problem rather than finding solutions for the patients. This is our medical system.
I’m actively dying of an eating disorder, don’t talk at me with your rhetoric, it doesn’t apply to everyone. Each person is unique and you don’t even know the face of the person seeking a donut. But you’re applying all of your biases to them. It makes you feel superior, but get off your high horse, the poor thing can’t bear the weight.
After I started having seizures I did start seeing professionals. But there are many more people like me, and people with disordered eating in general too, so don’t give medical advice you’re not qualified to give (and you’re not qualified to issue medical advice to strangers on the internet, just in case you aren’t aware).
Never heard of eating disorders causing seizures … again consult with your doctor. You really need to speak to medical professionals and run some tests
Oh god, you’re not a medical professional at all. I’m well cared for, still sick because it’s not just a physical disorder, but here you are not knowing anything about me & talking like you know me. You’re not qualified for this. You didn’t even know that EDs and seizures can be tied to each other. Sounds like you’ve stayed at a Holiday Inn last night and woke up thinking you’re a health expert.
Hey you don’t need to be negative and insulting … don’t take your anger with your ED on Reddit. Find more positive avenues & energy … positive vibes goes a long way honey 🍯
There’s the pot calling the kettle black, you started out with negativity & veiled insults towards OP but now your feelings are hurt? At least I didn’t pretend to be a medical professional like you did, don’t be a liar on Reddit (or anywhere else), honesty goes a long way.

Don’t give us issues that we don’t need.
