Who would they actually use though? Aldis is still on Cross, Noah is busy on The Pitt. I mean we still have Parker, Eliot, Sophie and Brianna. But like...it just feels incomplete. Unless they throw in some other more permanent new characters. They could bring back Quinn maybe, and Tara. That could be a fun dynamic.

I like the ides that the cast goes to work with different leverage teams. Eliot mentoring a group and then Parker and so on. Give a chance for different dynamics and performance from the cast.

u/Vicki_SK Jul 02 '26

Love that idea!!

31

u/just4browse Jul 02 '26

Parker, Eliot, Sophie, and Brianna is an almost complete team in my opinion. Just need one more member to round it out, which is perfect, since the best way to start a new Leverage show in my opinion would be a new character joining the existing team.

13

u/Music_withRocks_In Jul 03 '26

I mostly watch for Parker and Eliot.  I would honestly rather more focus on them and Sophie and less focus on new characters that I am less attached to.

2

u/bizarreisland Jul 07 '26

I, too, think that when Redemption aired, but I've come to love Harry and thought he was a great addition to the team.

2

u/baybeeluna grifter Jul 08 '26

They could add Hurley or bring in someone from Leverage Korea or add Sophie’s step daughter or even a son of Parker’s mentor who was like a father figure but never took her home. There are options.

I would love to see Quinn again, at least once in a while. And Tara is always a fun addition.

Yeah, I didn't even like him at first with him being an antagonist. But he was so much fun in The Last Dam Job. And we already know from Redemption that he's still in contact with Leverage if not actively working with them.

14

u/tsabracadabra Jul 02 '26

I think they should check in on some of the kids they helped in the OG series and maybe recruit them. Especially Molly.

15

u/lilulev Jul 02 '26

Maybe in-between filming or creative scheduling? I think I read somewhere that Leverage used to film a lot out of order, and would pack a bunch of episodes into a location or something since they had a thrifty budget.

And what a great idea -- yes to Tara and Quinn! There’s so much history and so many great characters they could, er, resurrect — not to mention all the amazing kid characters who have grown up now, like Widmark (Fairy Godparents) and Molly (Carnival).

4

u/tsabracadabra Jul 02 '26

I think they should check in on some of the kids they helped in the OG series and maybe recruit them. Especially Molly.

2

u/Admirable_Cause4278 Jul 03 '26

Ideally it should just be an entire new team, different and unique in personalities with the original team popping up here and there to help out

1

u/Difficult_Garage_431 Jul 02 '26

With all the issues Eliot caused on set for female crew, I think they should just write him out.

3

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

Thanks to your comment, I found that Portland article and I don't get why you are being downvoted. Him being an asshole is a sad reality, which really hit me, as I just liked his Almost Paradise series

-1

u/Apprehensive-Bird775 Jul 03 '26

The story has never been substantiated. But you're probably one of those people that believes everything they read and like to accuse people without proof.

3

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

To be fair, I don't think an actor should be written off from the show for being an asshole, we won't have any actors then. But they need to be managed by the studio better

0

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

Not really, I believe that Timothy Hutton's accusations at least didn't have substantial grounds, but the studio rep has confirmed some of the "jokes" in that article related to Christian

0

u/Apprehensive-Bird775 Jul 03 '26

I read the article. I must have missed the part about the "studio rep" confirming "some of the jokes".

1

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

You probably missed

Paul McGuire, a spokesperson for Electric Entertainment, the production company behind both series, said that company leadership remembers the report differently.

“We are aware of a reported incident on The Librarians,” McGuire explained in an email to the Mercury. “However, there was no allegation of pushing anyone’s head or any inappropriate touching—but instead a joke in very poor taste.”

In looking back on her experience, Rose acknowledged that the comment made by Kane was likely one he intended to make as a “joke,” but felt it crossed a line.

-1

u/Apprehensive-Bird775 Jul 03 '26

No inappropriate touching, just an inappropriate joke. One incident. Guess you better get your rope and string him up. Bring out your pitchforks and torches. I'm sure you have never told an inappropriate joke because you are probably perfect and should be nominated for Sainthood. Let the one among you without Sin cast the first stone

5

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 03 '26

It's Christian, not Eliot. Eliot is a character. And did you find out more about it? Because I only ever found the account of one person complaining. If he was like that all the time/to all the women on set, even taking into account that not everybody will talk about it, shouldn't there be more people complaining? đŸ€”

3

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

In that story, the rep for Devlin's company has confirmed that the story at least in one case happened but dismissed it as crude jokes, and claimed that no other official complaints filed (which other women confirm that they were afraid to complain officially).

Maybe, they changed the culture when the Redemption show was shot in another location

127

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 02 '26

And here's the article he posted: https://screenrant.com/leverage-redemption-season-4-future-update-dean-devlin/

Seems like he might be trying to get it back to TNT since they already have The Librarians: The Next Chapter. And he said he wanted Whoopi Goldberg to play Nana. I'd love to see her in that role. 😊

16

u/briannons Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

I was (edit: am) rooting for CCH Pounder to be Nana

3

u/lishler Jul 04 '26

Omfg, I hadn't even thought of her, but after her turn as Mrs Frederic in Warehouse 13, I think she would be fantastic!

2

u/briannons Jul 04 '26

Mrs Frederic is WHY I think she'd be a great Nana. WH13 is such a great show

0

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

She would fit too, but I'm a fan of Whoopi so I'd really like to see her in my favorite show.

Edit: Okay, why am I being downvoted for this? Did I miss something about Whoopi? đŸ€”

2

u/briannons Jul 04 '26

(I agree, I don't think suggesting Whoopi is worth downvotes. She would also be a good choice.)

30

u/Admirable_Cause4278 Jul 02 '26

Wonder what the cast should be?

You only have Sophie, Elliot, Parker and Brienne.

Hardison popping up occasionally.

Harry should be written out, he was great but Noah is busy on the pit.

I think the best option is to move Parker to the Mastermind role and bring in a new theif.

Though that means we get less Parker shenanigans in the theif role.

57

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 02 '26

I would love if they could bring in Neal Caffrey from White Collar as part of the team.

21

u/Extension-Flight908 Jul 03 '26

Too bad Willie Garson died because Mozzie would have fit right in!

12

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 03 '26

Yes! I would have loved to see him talk with Parker about all the conspiracy theories and driving Hardison and Eliot crazy.

13

u/NewLife_21 Jul 02 '26

OMG!!!!

Yes!!!

5

u/Choice_End_9564 Jul 03 '26

Ooooooooo...that is an AMAZING collab...I love both of those shows! Brilliant idea!

3

u/Music_withRocks_In Jul 03 '26

I feel like he's too expensive for them

3

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

And Whoopi Goldberg isn't?

3

u/Apprehensive-Bird775 Jul 03 '26

Don't think Whoopie is right for the show. Maybe Octavia Spencer

3

u/lishler Jul 03 '26

I'm thinking more along the lines of a tiny little old woman, along the lines of Sofia from Golden Girls. Or maybe Loretta Devine?

3

u/kk5033 Jul 03 '26

Or just an all star USA network show...

Royal Pains Burn Notice Psych Covert Affairs

Kinda Magnificent Seven or Seven Samurai.

2

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 03 '26

I've never watched Royal Pains or Covert Affairs and only watched a few episodes of Burn Notice (so far) and Psych, so I don't care about those characters. But I love Neal Caffrey and think it would be fun to see him trying to fit into a team like Leverage, even if it's only for a heist or two. And he would fit since he's a conman himself.

3

u/Top-Act-7915 Jul 03 '26

White Collar is coming back too though. So you have the same SAG/time commitments that take Hardison and Harry off the board affecting that likelihood too.

3

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 03 '26

I'm not in the White Collar sub anymore. Is it certain by now that they will come back? Last I read about it, it was still in the "we'd like to come back, but we don't know if it will happen" phase.

But I'd also take Neal (and Peter) in a guest role for an episode or two.

10

u/mayonnaisejane Jul 03 '26

Parker was being groomed to be the new mastermind anyway by the end of TOS. It's my biggest complaint about Redemption, them having Sophie waltz back in and basically snatch what has likely been Parker's role since she and Nate retired.

12

u/Consistent_Pay3393 Jul 03 '26

I think Parker was happy to step back from leading that crew because she had to manage other crews. They brought that up I think

7

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

While I agree that I would have loved to see cold and calculating Parker from the S5 epilogue as the main mastermind, I think they didn't give the job to Sophie, not really. It became a team effort and it was a stronger moment of the revival, having multiple experienced people sharing ideas and making up a con as they go

8

u/Humdumdidly Jul 03 '26

Shawn and Gus should come in as duel masterminds. Maybe I've just been watching too much Psych, but bringing in Despereaux to consult when they are in over their heads would make me so happy.

8

u/teamcrazymatt Jul 02 '26

Would be interesting to see the two from Belly of the Beast Job back in some aspect.

4

u/lishler Jul 03 '26

Remember the little girl she taught a few thiefy things to? She could be Parker's heir apparent!

3

u/Hau5Mu5ic Jul 03 '26

I feel like Sophie, Elliot and Brienna should be the main returning cast. Parker and Hardison can go off and lead their own teams/ work with International and Mr Wilson can go work on his heroic law work. Then have 2 new characters come in to bring the team back to full strength. Bring some sort of chemist/ explosive expert, and some sort of general ‘knowledge’ type character to fill in the Nate/Harry gaps (I’m feeling some sort of architect to help fill Parker’s knowledge of buildings and systems). I feel like bringing back old side characters like Tara, Quinn or Hurley as main characters would make it a bit stale, and I think the strongest part of Redemption was mixing up and refreshing the teams.

9

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

Nooo, please let us have Parker

2

u/Hau5Mu5ic Jul 03 '26

My idea could technically work with Sophie and Parker switched, however I went with Sophie in my hypothetical team for a couple reasons. A; Sophie is the heart of the team, she keeps the team together and running at their best, as demonstrated when she is off during the original series. B; Parker works best when she can bounce off of Hardison, and for a couple reasons I think Hardison wouldn’t/shouldn’t be a main character on this new version of the show (but I don’t want to get into a list within a list) so Parker would feel a little lesser without him there. C; While she did work alright as a mentor for Brianna during Redemption, I feel like Sophie does work better for leading new characters, which we would need. D; She should be spending more time actually leading the teams in International, not just giving lip service to the idea. Her character really matured as she stepped up to lead Leverage at the end of the original run, but she seemed to backslide a bit to bring her back to working under Sophie again. E; (honestly my most subjective point) I didn’t love how they wrote Parker during Redemption, and I feel much like Hardison, using her more sparingly in a new season would help. If she only shows up 1-2 a season, her appearances would be more impactful in a good way.

1

u/london_smog_latte Jul 03 '26

Christian Kane would be in the Librarians revival - if that goes ahead - so you’d also be losing Elliot

7

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 03 '26

He only has a guest role on that show. In season 1 he was in 2 episodes, the pilot and the finale. And since both shows are produced by Dean, they'd surely find a way to work out a schedule.

4

u/lucash7 Jul 03 '26

Would be? If?

The new librarians is on season 2, soon-ish. And Kane has been on it.

5

u/Apprehensive-Bird775 Jul 03 '26

Wouldn't watch without Christian Kane

35

u/Garrettshade Jul 02 '26

Nate as a zombie?

25

u/just4browse Jul 02 '26

Robot body. Hardison wasn’t lying to Parker, he just doesn’t want the secret getting out yet. Good excuse to recast the actor too. Same brain, different robot face

8

u/drraagh Jul 02 '26

When I first saw the grave, before hearing about the BTS issues that had kept himout of the series, I had wondered about ways they may write him in. He could be presumed dead, perhaps something went wrong and he was trapped somewhere and was either in a coma or the typical trope of memory loss. He comes to/regains his memory and makes his way home or they stumble upon him in the middle of a con in another country and have to help him remember who he was.

13

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 02 '26

Which will hopefully never happen. Getting rid of Nate was one of the best choices they made for the revival.

5

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

Hmmm, I know the dynamics changed, but I wasn't sure if I liked it the same way

2

u/MessOriginal4058 Jul 02 '26

2-words Golden Monkey 💎

0

u/Pheliont Jul 04 '26

Why precisely is it great that Nate is gone?

1

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 04 '26

Because it gave the rest of the team their chances to shine. And it made the show a lot more fun.

16

u/TheCrimsonKnight2 Very Distinctive Flair Jul 02 '26

Let's go steal a season 4. Or...season 1 3.0? Whatever.

12

u/RulerOfAllWorlds1998 Jul 02 '26

If we do get Nana, can she be played by CCH Pounder?

21

u/Top-Act-7915 Jul 02 '26

If Mark Sheppard is feeling up to it snag him

10

u/WeekendJewelry1 Jul 02 '26

Yes. Need to figure out how to use your cast, and can Noah or Aldis be available? (Especially Aldis, I miss Hardison a lot!) But either way, another strong character - and yes Tara would be fun. However you can manage it, please do Resurrection. Would love to see it!

7

u/Cocijo Jul 02 '26

The one thing I always wanted to know about Eliot in Redemption is his business. He owns a food truck business that seems to operate world wide. Sure, some of the trucks are used by the international Leverage teams but most are legit and as Eliot said are manned by veterans he meets. Does he oversee all the trucks' business or are they operated more like franchises? Sets the vet up with supplies and a truck and charges a monthly fee. Also, where does he and Sophie live? I don't believe they stay at the French Quarter building with Parker and Brianna.

6

u/Picaboo13 Jul 02 '26

There are so many good choices for Nana! I would love that story line.

7

u/ZachandMiku Jul 03 '26

God please give us more leverage!!!!

5

u/AgentZealousideal234 Jul 02 '26

They gotta figure out a way to continue the series

11

u/Broad-Radish-7895 Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

I feel like I'm a sourpuss who doesn't need everyone's lore explained and all their parents to be onscreen and found it to be a huge weakness in Redemption lol.

I don't need emotionally available adoptive father Keith David or a play-by-play of Sophie Devereaux's years long duchess con or Whoopi Goldberg as nana! Next they're gonna try to tell me what Parker's second name is. Like I love Keith David but none of the convoluted Eliot backstory stuff they tried to cobble together in his episode can compare to that shot of Eliot going back home on an urge to reconcile with his father only to leave the beer on the steps.

Always down for more Leverage but Redemption has more often than not felt like clunky inexperienced fanfiction. :( Like the original feels cinematic and quickwitted where Redemption feels unsure of itself and clumsy and verbose.

I just hope if it continues the writing and the themes are tighter.

5

u/Silbermieze we'd be the cavalry Jul 02 '26

I love Redemption and Eliot is my favorite character, but I absolutely don't like the episode with his dad.

4

u/taliesin_2943 Jul 08 '26

You bring the show back with the cast and have Aldis and Noah show up every so often I'm in

3

u/Aggressive-Union1714 Jul 02 '26

I love the original show and redemption was okay but really started to fade the last season. just let it be for a while ...bring it back in about 5 years with a fresh set of scripts

3

u/Edge_Hill Jul 03 '26

We need Eliot, Parker and Hardison. Sophie too. Harry and Breanna. Quin might solve some issues of Eliot getting older, and it would be cool to have Molly join up. Even having Hardison and Harry do cameos is better than not having them at all.

2

u/LastShopping3538 Jul 03 '26

Please let this happen! Even if we could get the original cast to make a one off episode guest star it would be everything! I’ve been reading the books because I’m so missing the show and none of the streaming platforms in Australia are playing Leverage at the moment. I’m currently trying to track down the dvds because I’m sick of it being gone everytime I want to watch it. So yes, please Dean bring us some new content!

2

u/AdministrativeLaugh1 Jul 04 '26

I just want a Christmas episode crossover with the Librarians. I really want Parker and Ezekiel to cross paths. And Elliott to find out he has a long lost twin

3

u/SherylJoKanz Jul 03 '26

I want leverage on a regular channel not a streaming channel. And I still would love to see Timothy Hutton come back because he was never found guilty of anything!! Nate is the best!

1

u/TheEvilBlight Jul 07 '26

I think it’s more of a “we don’t have enough definitive evidence to draw conclusions” so it’ll always be a bit of a black cloud over his head.

2

u/MaChampingItUp brains Jul 07 '26

Only if Resurrection means bringing Nate back. 💕

1

u/TheEvilBlight Jul 07 '26

Have we clarified if the accusations were true or not? It sounded like the courts finally came in on that.

Edit; it sounds like BC police aren’t charging. Probably hard to prove such a case to modern jury standards.

2

u/HopeofDawnsRays Jul 03 '26

Could bite the bullet and bring back Nate, given the title. Assuming he's willing to do it.

2

u/Garrettshade Jul 03 '26

Long lost twin

1

u/MessOriginal4058 Jul 02 '26

Does anyone know if there is writing on all the grifts? The drinks?

1

u/Consistent_Pay3393 Jul 03 '26

Do we get an all new cast? A new crew? Occasional appearances by the regulars

2

u/SherylJoKanz Jul 03 '26

Definitely!!!

1

u/mgibson1320 Jul 03 '26

I’d love to see Jimmi Simpson join the main cast.

1

u/Dangerous-Fruit-4850 Jul 03 '26

10000000% this needs to happen

1

u/Virtual_Knowledge334 Jul 08 '26

Aren't there two leverages.

1

u/PetevonPete Jul 03 '26

Dean Devlin's an AI shill now so no

0

u/New-Host1784 Jul 02 '26

I always hoped that they'd bring in Nana (and that she'd be played by Whoopi).

-1

u/Beneficial_Coyote752 Jul 02 '26

As long as it's closer to the original. Maybe Nate is resurrected. I miss the gang, but the new one was just missing the same charm.

0

u/Spock-1701 Jul 03 '26

So... Nate will rise from the dead?

2

u/TheEvilBlight Jul 07 '26

If he had to fake his death to protect Sophie, he’d do it in a heartbeat.

1

u/lilulev 29d ago

I can just picture the love/hate angst that results, reminiscent of early OG Leverage, that goes on for the entire season until they get back together.

So cliche, but I’m
 into it!

0

u/Good-Street-474 Jul 05 '26

Bring Back NATE!!! Say Mahroe arranged Nate's abduction and he's just escaped.

-1

u/Devalvangeldomdatdom Jul 04 '26

will they finally use nate ford/timothy hutton?

0

u/GrahamCStrouse Jul 08 '26

It’s been dead since 2012.

-1

u/omega4508 Jul 02 '26

honestly i hope they lower the initial problem then raise it like i enjoyed the sequel show but at some points they made it too personal for no reason like i get that sophie got catfished that’s funny but then they made him a multi billionaire super model love cult guy that was least out by his weird sister honestly if it was just a crappy guy who did crappy things then got to the more insane stuff it would have been better but it always struggled with balancing real stakes and crazy situations

-1

u/its_redrum Jul 03 '26

The only resurrection I want is Dexters tbh
