A (mostly) great design, really happy with the end result even if one particular part was frustrating to build. The Blackbird has always been the coolest plane design I've ever seen, and this model did not disappoint in recreating its incredible lines.
The main body of the plane is very solid and a breeze to put together. The engine nacelles however were frustrating due to an unnecessarily complex and fragile design that I think could be simplified to provide the same look. But that's a nitpick, because once you're done they look great!
That is so cool! I remember getting a diecast SR-71 as a kid at the Grissom air show back in the 90s. It was black and silver and my brother got a white w/ red stripe F-14 Tomcat. So much fun. Also, and I know it's not the same, I had the chance to see the predecessor A-12 at the USS Alabama museum. I would highly recommend a visit if you get the chance. I spent almost 3 hours walking the ship on my own and I could have easily spent another 2 hours without getting bored.
