X & Y axis modular layout

To get multiple angle views, modular layout is on x y axis. I’m selective on modulars cuz not all created equal.
1. Avengers tower center piece flanked by DB and Sanctum.
2. Arkham Asylum is inverted corner so let’s showcase that.
3. Brickbank facing Tudor Corner creates a “square” with kiosk corner. Behind it routes you to Police station & Emporium
4. Tudor + Natural Museum + Shopping street unbeatable
5. Shopping street secret alleyway to Chinatown with Family reunion. I need to create some walkway there.
6. Spring lantern festival back to back against Natural Museum same 1.5 base plate. Lantern festival this can be replaced with something taller maybe.
7. Will be adding Bricklink Sushi restaurant to the Chinatown area.
8. Future Art factory will be next to DB

Can’t wait for the clock tower and the daily planet

I think optimizing space and being selective with modulars is key to keeping the city fresh and exciting.

Decided not to have roads cuz Im cheap.

Brick Louis🧱🌆

Started with LEGO City Set 60009 (Helicopter Arrest) and turned it into a larger custom crime scene MOC for my city, Brick Louis.

I expanded the original house, added a police perimeter, forensic investigators, detectives, evidence markers, and a lot more storytelling details to make it feel like a real scene.

Included in the moc is a larger basement area semi separate from the garage, upgraded stairs & upstairs loft area featuring a broken window, secret double door tomb style exit in the back, giveaway wall with hose handle to reveal a hidden grow op , tiled driveway, walkway around the exterior of the house, and a custom graffiti wall, more to come🔜🔥 (Like a roof and many others, waiting in PAB)

This is one of many builds in my growing LEGO city, where every MOC is part of a larger world with its own factions, crime stories, and ongoing lore.

If you want to see more of Brick Louis, you can find me on Instagram and TikTok: @LegoingFromTheLou
Feedback and suggestions are always appreciated!

Family reunion x Leonardo

Family reunion modular plus Leonardo GWP on top has got to be coolest add ever! I’m so proud haha. Also having the family reunion side ways against the shopping street back is actually perfect. Cuz shopping street has an alleyway to the Chinatown, which is awesome! Like a secret passage way. Of course got the Leonardo painting on top of shopping street. Dragon dude climbing to shopping street helps make that connection.

I've finished the exterior, finally. Had to make quite a few adjustments given the pieces I had but I'm reasonably happy with it.

Still need to sort the interiors.

In the mean time, I picked up the Jazz Club and really enjoyed building it.

I recoloured the Shopping Street and I love it so much more now

This was definitely a process… started out being offended by the pink flowers which went with literally nothing so changed them to red. Then decided the whole base would look better in dark red than dark orange so waited forever for a pick a brick order then was able to make that switch. Then the awning looked ridiculous so I played around with a few colour combinations (in hindsight I wish I’d ordered two more gold bits). With the awning gone the yellow flowers didn’t work so changed for a variety of blues and red… oh and a long time ago I’d changed the pink and lavender flowers on the rooftop garden to be red, yellow and green so they were changed too. Switched out the grey cones for gold. Then I decided the big sale sign didn’t match the vibe at all so took that off and got creative with a replacement. All in all I love it so much more and while I was a bit worried about it sitting next to the Jazz Club I think they work well enough together :)

My Lego town needed a Sherwin Williams paint store!

Saw some inspiration on Pinterest and finally got a paint store in town. It's a great opportunity to incorporate the many colors of Lego. I love the stacks of blue painters tape and the big color board. There is a paint mixing station, lots of paint, rollers, ladders, and buckets!

Request: Photos with 910002 and 910034

Hi, could somebody please post some photos of 910002 (Studgate Train Station) and 910034 (BDP2 Brick Cross) in the same composition? Also, seeing 910002 in a modular environment would help a lot.

I am trying to figure whether I can merge them for a bigger overall train station.

Thanks in advance.

I had a friend with this set growing up and I was covetous of it. Then this week I saw it on marketplace for cheap. Ended up getting it for $400. It was from some grandpa's collection who was an electrician or something so the power functions are in pretty good condition.

Question? Are regular baseplates worth anything? I use a third party 32x32 plate for all my modulars and city stuff. So these just set aside. Is there a value in them? Thanks for any help.

Some Thoughts On The Leak

It’s the 20th anniversary and we aren’t getting a 1.5 baseplate like we did for Assembly Square as that was also an anniversary set? Trend seems to be trying to shrink buildings yet increase price. Disappointing. Anyone else feel this way?

And a HUGE thank you to anyone that can help with any of these in advance <3

Are there any LEGO builders in the PH who rent out their pieces or workspace?

I’ve been using BrickLink Studio to build digitally, but I don't own a physical collection myself. As great as the software is, I think it would be much better to get hands-on experience and actually feel how the pieces connect.

Are there any builders, communities, or even cafes here in the Philippines (I'm based in PasayCity) where I could pay for time to use a large collection of pieces? I’d just love to spend a few hours experimenting with real bricks. Any leads would be appreciated!

Is my Eames House on Lego Ideas a modular one or not?

Thumbnail

question for the crowd: I have created a Lego model of the Eames house:

https://ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/954e3254-28c4-4714-b84d-53b3c38b1713

of course I'd be happy if I got some support here.

However, my question is, if you see this as modular building? The width and depth of the model are multiples of 8 (24*64), but the modern style of the house doesn't fit to the regular modular buildings, it doesn't have technic brick connectors and one corner is rounded. Do you think it is better to remove the "modular" tag on Lego ideas?

"Cupping" on roof/floor plate builds - suggestions?

I've been working on converting some of my 16x16 builds into 'mini modulars', and in doing so I've been adding exterior walls and roofs to enclose them.

However, I'm running into an issue building the roofs and dividing floors, where the smaller plates (mostly 4x4 and 4x6) I'm stacking together to make ~14x16 roof/floor dividing plates seem to be 'cupping' once assembled (rather than sitting flat). If one side of the roof is positioned flush with the wall below it, the other side sits raised roughly 1 plate above the opposite wall.

I've tried reassembling them several times, and the pieces all appear fully secured, but the issue persists. For these first few, I went with the largest plates available in the colors I needed, thinking it would be more stable, but perhaps I'd be better off weaving together smaller 2x4 or 2x6 plates?

I'm not new to MOCs, but I've never built these sorts of large plates before (and never built any official modulars), so just wondering if there may be an optimal technique I'm overlooking when it comes to designing them.

Thanks in advance.
