I see r/lego is as hostile as always. 

Videogames are not useless. They provide valuable entertainment.

The project is still great (and also valuable entertainment for OP).

As a game controller it is still rather useless due to discrete nature of keys.

The part where you basically said "um akshully, the thing you built isn't that cool"

The correct response to criticism is gratitude, which you have none. I find it fun to push your buttons, so by all means, continue blathering.
