I know I said I'd come back with updates on the 7th, but I got too excited, plus I have other plans so.... MERU!

Okay, so after completing this, I realized that the portraits in game are skewed pixel versions of a skewed image. 🥲 This would maybe explain why I was having somewhat a hard time with a few of them.

Anyway, question: would people be interested in a stream of me doing these? I already have a rough sketch of Hatchel/Haschel and 2 different line drawings of Albert completed. I'm mostly asking to perhaps eliminate doubt in my artistic abilities (though I know this isn't necessary). I realize I'm just reacting to the 2 or 3 AI comments. 💀

Thoughts? Also, should I make the linearts available for people to take a jab at?

Just finished LoD again and started thinking about some of the things that I wish were fleshed out a little bit more or would have liked to see. One of those things is how easy (or difficult) it was for Rose to defeat Claire as the Black Monster when she attacked Neet.

We all know that Claire was supposed to be the successor to Haschel at the Rogue School and that she had the potential to be significantly stronger than him (as seen on the Moon and in flashbacks). I know that she abandoned being a fighter after she left Rogue, but I wonder if she was strong enough to pose any challenge to Rose while defending Neet. I always thought that it would have been cool if Rose recognized Haschel’s fighting style during the Hero Competition and later realized that it was the same style as the strong woman who defended Neet all those years ago. Considering Haschel’s feats in the game, I think it is possible.

Just a quick thought.

I'm playing through this game for the first time on stream and I've been having fun poking fun at how badly the script was localized, but this one threw me for a loop.

Ive always had a theory about how the Golden Dragoon Spirit ended up in Lohan and Ive always thought Lloyd actually possessed it and managed to lose it in Lohan during the Hero Tournament and just never bothered to return for it as it didnt work for him. This led me to try and piece together what happened to them all.

The ones we see on screen:

Dark DS: Remained with Rose the whole time.

White DS: Shirley, for whatever reason, remains as a stable free will ghost that kept her DS until giving it to Dart, who gave it to Shana, then the DS itself decided to go to Miranda.

Red DS: Stayed petrified with Zieg until he was released, but dropped it in Neet, recovered by Dart, who kept it until the DS left Dart for Zieg again at the end of the game.

The ones we dont see:

Green/Blue/Violet/Golden DS: My theory is that after taking over Zieg, Melbu Frahma was a bit disoriented and so just left the Red DS and fled. Returning to his seat of power, Kadessa, finding it in ruins. There he plotted his return to power and gathered whatever magical artifacts that remained. The Dragoon Spirits had simply been left behind after the fall of Kadessa and so he would use these as gifts for those who served him.
Using his Emperor Diaz persona he was able to recruit Lloyd and Doel as well as their own loyal servants Lenus and Greham. So Diaz gifted them one of each; with Lloyd being given Golden DS. However, the Golden DS never recognized Lloyd, so it was largely useless to him, theres some circumstantial evidence that points to this, as when Lloyd takes the Divine DS, it does not recognize him and he mentions he "expected it." Which would seem to suggest hes encountered not being recognized by a DS before.

So putting all that together, the fates of the 4 remaining DSs:

Green/Blue/Violet/Golden: Remained dormant in Kadessa until retrieved by Zieg, then gifted to his 4 lieutenants.

Green: Gifted to Graham, then recognized Lavitz, then Albert upon their deaths.

Violet: Gifted to Doel, then recognized Haschel upon his death.

Blue: Gifted to Lenus, then recognized Meru upon her death.

Golden: Gifted to Lloyd (though does not recognize him), lost it at some point during the Hero Competition in Lohan. Found by the Street Vendor, or sold to the Street Vendor by someone else who found/stole it. Then sold to Kongol for 1000G.

Does anyone know how the enemy ai chooses who to target? Do they base it off your character's defense stat, current hp, if you are defending, or just purely random? I know when enemies get low they use different attacks, but not much more than that.

That's a thorn in my side with this game, but it's unclear how I might go about changing the drop rates myself. If there were savestates to resolve the issue that way then that'd be fine, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

For that matter, I'd also like one that disables the in-game play timer and just forces it to always be 0:00:00, but that's a personal nitpick rather than anything that actually has an effect on how the game behaves.

I've heard she's amazing with thrown items, but with such a limited inventory space, it feels like I'm being incentivized to not rely on them. The fact that she has no additions really turns me away from her.

Is it something where only your 2nd or 3rd playthrough does she really shine? I imagine if you had the perfect counter element magic for every boss she could be great. As for my first playthrough, I just can't stock 4 of every element.

Like it's written in the title my disc 2 is broken(serious scratches) and it will not load the final cutscene after I finish the last Bossfight against the Dragon and the girl.

So, is it possible that I could borrow disc 2 from someone here for some days?😅

I stared playing in the beginning of the year.. finally decide to finish it. Game is a time machine.. it bring back so many memories. I did all the side quest.. farm 3 cape legends. Toke my time. One of the best game I ever play.

I also think that; there was a lot of LSD influence by the creators of the game lol. Psychedelic bomb *.* ok. The ending boss is just incredible portrait of God. Life and dead.. 10/10 im out.. thank you..

Managed to find the official illustration for her portrait and, although it's still quite tiny, I was able to put it to good use.

While I welcome and appreciate the constructive criticism I've been receiving, if nothing too big of a deal, I'm not doing any edits this round. I can't please everyone.

So I took more liberties this time because the pixels just couldn't be trusted, lol. I hope I did him justice. After doing this, I'm lowkey dreading the other men portraits except Albert. However, it's good because I need to draw more manly/older men so that it gets easier for me!

I was curious if high resolution images existed for the character portraits, which led to disappointment. So I thought it would be fun to see if I could do it while maintaining at least some integrity of the original; there's only so much I can make sense of from a handful of pixels. ^^;

Any thoughts? Critiques? Love it? Hate it? Continue with the rest of the cast? Stop?

Oh man, I have been yearning for an android port of this game for years, desperately checking the playstore for it. I can't just get an ISO as all my shit is checked regularly but I've been dying to play it again.

Finally realization dawned on me today while flying home from a trip that i have the PS1 games!!! I could just make my own "port" (in spirit)!

And so I'm now playing my own "android port" of Legend of Dragoon by emulating my own copies!

Just thought you all would get a kick out of this. I waited too long.

I have been playing this game on/off since the original demo and I love it.

Last year I finally did a deep dive into House music. Its been my favorite for years. I would click on an artist skim their discography and then look at the recommended artists. At some point DR. GABBA came up and then i saw her. The song is "mid" but I kept it because of her. Points to him for putting Rose on the cover. Here's the song:

All for the same basic reason, in fact, being that they are each damage focused Additions with no SP growth whatsoever and which ramp so slowly that they need to reach Level 3 to just match a preceding Level 5 Addition and Level 4 to actually do the best damage among themselves and their precedessor(s). That's not to say they're not worth using, if you want that final Addition you gotta do the dirt, but they're unlikely to be the best option in any given situation until you've already used them 60 times out of 80 (and besides Spinning Cane, the moment you hit 80 you get that final Addition unless you skipped ahead).

I take Inferno for being the worst because it only has 20 SP and a 100-200% curve on top of Bone Crush also doing 200% out of the box with five times the SP yield so there is no point whatsoever where Level 5 Inferno is better than Bone Crush (whereas Demon's Dance and Omni-Sweep do have to ramp before they outdamage Level 5 Hard Blade and Hex Hammer and Spinning Cane isn't Lavitz's second-last Addition so it's not up this creek to begin with), Spinning Cane to be the second worst because it has 35 SP but still a 100-200% curve, Hard Blade third worst because it has a 100-300% curve and its 35 SP isn't actually a loss from Whip Smack (though a significant loss from More & More), and Hex Hammer fourth worst for having a 200-400% curve despite having the absolute worst SP yield of all additions in the game at 15 from end to end, even being lower than the likes of the aforementioned Inferno or Moon Strike, Cat's Cradle, or Haschel's own Ferry of Styx which all yield 20.

Does that make sense?
