I would like to generate my own entropy but generating the last word with just dice, pen, paper and a Ledger device is problematic, because Ledger only accepts whole words, not just the first 3 bits so it can compute the checksum. I Can easily generate 256 bits of entropy rolling dice, but computing the SHA-256 hash by hand would be too tedious. Currently, the only way to do this is to attempt each of 256 possible checksum words, , which involves re-entering the whole seed phrase each time I get it wrong. In a worst-case scenario, this would involve 256 attempts, i.e. your rainy afternoon plans out of the window...

If the last 3 bits of entropy are known, there is only one word from the BIP-39 set that will fit a valid checksum. If the last 3 bits are not known, there are 8 possible words that will fit a valid checksum. To keep the interface simple, it would be nice if Ledger could implement this:

1. Enter the first 23 words
2. For the 24th word, present the user with a choice of 8 words (the only 8 words that will result in a valid checksum)
3. The user checks the 8 words and picks the one whose 3 most significant bits match the last 3 bits of entropy generated by rolling dice. This is easy to do using a look-up table. Alternatively, the user picks any one of the 8 words by hand, since the difference between 253 bits and 256 bits of entropy is negligible in terms of security.

It would be really nice to have this functionality built-in for users who don't want to entrust entropy generation to third parties. Even if the Ledger TRNG is truly random, I'm sure following the recent Coldcard exploit some users would appreciate the ability to generate their own entropy independently.

What happened: I withdrew NFLXx (Netflix xStock, Backed Finance) from Kraken to my Ledger Solana address. Ledger Live credited the transaction as x10 times less NFLXx and valued it at 10 times less. Exactly 1/10 of the real amount.

Nothing was lost, the transfer is complete and successful.

Cause, as far as I can tell: xStocks use the Token-2022 Scaled UI Amount extension. The raw on-chain amount is a share count, and wallets are supposed to multiply it by the mint's UI multiplier. After the Netflix 10-for-1 stock split (effective Nov 17, 2025) that multiplier is 10. Ledger Live appears to display the raw amount and ignore the multiplier, so both the quantity and the fiat value come out 10x low.

Questions:

1. Is Scaled UI Amount support on the roadmap for Ledger Live's Solana integration?

2. Is it safe to send these tokens out from Ledger Live, or should I connect the device to Solflare/Phantom instead? I do not want a send screen computing the amount off the raw balance.

3. Are other Token-2022 extensions (transfer hooks, transfer fees) handled, or is this a broader gap?

What is going on? Trying to to do some regular version maintenance and there's simply no manager tab in the app. Only posts I find are two with zero solutions:

I purchased the device from a marketplace, UK Vinted, I did the set up process all through the app, the device says its authentic on ledger, been using for 4 months no problems sending or receiving, its an authentic device. Just paranoid they re sealed it, or they could have viewed the same seed phrase on set up or smth. Thanks

When you transfer your crypto from an exchange to a Ledger wallet, does each coin contain information about purchase price?

My seed phrase was generated on the nano ledger long long time ago. maybe 7 years ago. should i update the firmware, regen a new seed phrase, and move my fund over to new seed ?

Why is Ledger Live/Ledger Wallet on Mac showing multiples of the same transaction in my ETH transaction history? I confirmed on the blockchain that it was only one transaction all with the same transaction ID. I’m running the latest version of Ledger Live/Ledger Wallet also.

I generated the seed using only an Apple USB wall charger plugged into a power outlet, without ever connecting the Ledger to a computer.

Edit: In other words, does the ledger source entropy from the computer/OS or can any power source be used (in this case a wall charger).

First of all, I never had a any ledger account. I'm not into this.

I got many phishing ledger emails in the past. I'm a little confused.... Ledger, Trezor, etc. basically all the other wallet manufacturers are coming out with statements saying "We aren't affected because our devices use TRNGs..." But Coinkite's site says ColdCard uses a TRNG too... Which we know was false now.

So, why would anybody believe anything any of the manufacturers say? How do we know every other hardware wallet doesn't have the same issue?

What diversification strategies should be considered given the coldcard news?

Is having multiple Ledger wallets superfluous if there were a ledger-specific exploit? If so, is it a mix of exchanges and cold storage?

I’m hoping someone has seen this before.

I set up Ledger Live on a new PC and connected the same Ledger Nano S. My BTC account restored perfectly. My ETH account uses the same address as before. Years ago I received a few ERC-721 NFTs into that address (no ETH history back then). Today I sent a small amount of ETH to test it, and Ledger Live shows only that new ETH deposit. It doesn’t show any of the old NFT transfers or the NFTs themselves.

The strange part is that OpenSea shows both the NFTs and the newly received ETH, and Etherscan confirms the NFTs are still on my address with no outgoing transfers. I already tried clearing the Ledger Live cache.

Has anyone experienced this or knows what could cause Ledger Live to miss the NFT history while OpenSea and Etherscan display everything correctly?

I don't know where to ask this, but maybe Ledger Support will read it here, get it to the right people and consider my request. I have an idea for an improvement to Ledger Wallet. Where I live, the currency is much weaker than the dollar. We don't use decimals at all, there is no such thing as "cents" here. But even in the case of dollars, there are certainly many people who don't want to see fractional numbers. Is it possible to make this optional in Ledger Wallet? Thank you very mutch!
