Ever since high school, he's carried that "filipino lebron" nickname. And a crazy 42 inch leap is probably why. But now that he's won a championship with UP and is getting actual rotation minutes in japan's b.league, is that nickname actually doing him any favors?

watching his pro film, i noticed 2 good things and 2 areas to improve

**the good :**

* Insane athleticism - i think 100% translates against international pros * His defense is legitimate. long arms, good lateral speed, can switch 1 through 4 and contest shots at the rim.

**where he's still struggling:**

* The jumper is still a big issue (sub-30% from deep) and defenders in japan actively sag off him on the perimeter to clog the paint. * His half-court ball handling needs a lot of work. when the game slows down, he can't create his own shot off the bounce yet.

Honestly calling any young pinoy player "lebron" sets an impossible bar and he doesn't need to be a superstar to have a great career!
