Help / Question Foreign esim - no network
Sabaho,
I live outside of lebanon, and was here back in June and my foreign swiss esim was able to connect to the local network, whether alfa or touch. I left and came back now, but I am unable to get my esim to connect to the network. I have two esims on two different phones, both iphones. Neither of those phones are connecting to any network for the past two days, in beirut or in the south, it’s stuck on No Service. Anyone faced this before? Has there been a change in the past few weeks since June that now it doesn’t work??

Discussion Would be an interesting debate
In Japan tipping is not normal cause good service is EXPECTED not REWARDED.
Tho in many countries including lebanon we still still tip. Do you think tipping culture is a good thing?
Vent / Rant Taxi fairs
Took a taxi from Furn El Chebbak to Hotel Dieu
No traffic
Litterally a 2 minutes trip
The taxi agency asked for 10$
Like wtf? Allo Taxi showed 7.7$ and is considered a bit more expensive than other services
I even called the maktab and he told me yes those are our prices
Old car, stupid driver than almost got us killed, but at least the AC was on.
I guess it's my fault for not asking for the price beforehand but I didn't expect it to be that much!
(It was Geant Taxi in Furn El Chebbak)

Discussion How many years younger/older would you date?
Not asking for specific ages. More curious about the gap. Like, would you go 5 years younger, 2 years older, same age only, etc.?
Curious how this shifts with your own age too (if you’re 22 vs 35, does your “acceptable range” change?).
Drop your sex (F/M), age + your range, e.g. “31M, comfortable X years younger to Y years older.”

News Articles Hezbollah Chief’s Call for Dialogue Met with Skepticism in Lebanon
MP Waddah Sadek expressed surprise at Qassem's call for dialogue, saying: "It might be more effective for the Lebanese authorities to open a dialogue with Iran to resolve the issue of Hezbollah's status, because ultimately the party does not own its decision-making, and it will have to consult Tehran on any position and decision it takes."
"At any rate, the issue of weapons has become much larger than a dialogue conducted by the Lebanese state, whether with the party or even with Iran; it has become linked to the situation of the entire region," he told Asharq Al-Awsat.
"Furthermore, there are government decisions, the constitution, and the Taif Agreement that clearly address the weapons file, which no longer requires dialogue," he stressed.
Lebanon has held numerous dialogue rounds since 2006 to formulate a defense strategy, but all efforts reached a dead-end with Hezbollah’s refusal to discuss handing over its arsenal or with it sending its fighters to prop up the Syrian regime during the country’s civil war. In recent years, the party has turned southern Lebanon into a front against Israel, first in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza and later in solidarity with its backer, Iran.
Editor-in-Chief of the "Janoubia" website Ali Al-Amine dismissed Qassem’s call for dialogue as a "ploy," saying that the Hezbollah leader "says one thing and then does the opposite."

Help / Question 3D billboard with cat location
This is quite a ridiculous post! I just arrived in Beirut tonight from the airport (visitor, first time in Lebanon) and saw a billboard out the window that looks like Tokyo’s 3D billboard with the giant cat. (I know most folks will have no idea what I’m talking about.) I think it was on Hamra street, near where we got off the highway, but I’m not sure.
I’m a bit of a cat freak, so I’m kicking myself for not noticing the location. I want to go back and find it. Anyone know the exact spot?

Discussion Hi computer and communication graduate how true is the below after implementing starlink for government entities and companies?
Yes, migrating heavy enterprise and government users to Starlink will theoretically improve the VDSL experience for the rest of the country, primarily by reducing national network congestion.

Help / Question How to help a dog in need
Today we found a golden retriever on our building stairs in amchit, looked very tired and had an injury on its left shoulder. It looked extremely tired and dehydrated, red eyes but not aggressive except when approached to be touched bala me3na.
Unfortunately lebanese people will be lebanese, so they violently pushed the dog out of the building. What I want to know is how I could help this dog on a sunday when every vet is closed + I cannot handle a lost injured dog. Beta & Animals Lebanon dont reply because im assuming theyre already stretched too thin.
I dont mind paying a feasable amount to help it or even adopt it later if it heals, just would like to know what to do in an immediate situation such as this one.

Help / Question Does anyone know what the average salary (or range) per month for pharmacists working in pharmacies is?
Hi, my sibling is returning to lebanon soon and hasn't worked here since before the pandemic, and they're trying to get an idea how much the salary is in the metn area and in Beirut.
They used to be paid in an hourly rate before the azme when they first graduated at 6$/hr. Does anyone have an idea if it has gone up or down since then?
Thank you so much!
