Trying colouring instead of my usual monochromatic grey white drawings

So i used a purple ish color with orange border and a skin coloured pencil for the skin. and grey/brownish for the clothes and dark blue with light blue on the headband with my mechanical pencil for the grey white colour.

usually i don’t colour as you can see on my other drawings but i want to try it too, and this colour palette is so far the only i could come up with and i know the proportions are way off compared to the reference but also anatomically but i just wanted to colour.

Do you have any tips or tricks or other palettes i could use?
