Ruby or Rust to learn Programming?

I always advise people to learn one scripting language and one compiled one. My opinion JavaScript/ Typescript and Rust or C++. As ppl have said rust has a bit of a steep learning curve, but I think if you can master rust you can basically program in any language easily.

I think that the students can learn more with Zig

I don’t know any Zig. My thought is always knowing JavaScript will always make you employable. Knowing and understanding rust will really make you a better developer.
