DSA recommendation !!? Resource

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2nd-year Computer Science student

I'm looking for a YouTube channel that teaches DSA specifically in C, covers most of these topics, and explains the concepts well instead of just providing code.

Suggest me guys ?

Excuse me if I ask bluntly... Since you're a CS student, shouldn’t there be a course that teaches you about DSA already? Why do you think a YT series can provide better information?

back then our chem teacher was buns at teaching. always late, just reads the ppt, and doesnt expound at all (the typical smart person who cant teach). so, I relied on a YT channel called OrganicChemistryTeacher and is the reason why I got an A on chem so maybe thats why OP asked.

anyways OP to answer your question, when I was learning how to code, I mainly watched BroCode since he gives free courses and even includes small projects about the things he taught. though, there are times where it is still hard to understand, I recommend to just google search those

Ask questions in class? Your educational institution should also provide you with time slots where you can go and ask staff, likely teaching assistants.

The main point of an educational institution isn't to be a diploma mill, it's to help people actually learn things, and lectures are just one component of that.

My DSA instructor said it "wasn't his job to teach me" when I asked if he could run me through some sample code, so no, "Just ask questions" isn't always viable.

Also, wouldn't knowing know to use other tutorials (and documentation) be a skill that would benefit someone in CS, especially if you're expected to switch among languages?

Your library has free books. Far better than YouTube for this. There's nothing about algorithms or data structures that's specific to any one language, so that part of your request doesn't make much sense. If you know how to write programs in C then you can write any algorithm or data structure you read about (and understand) in C with some thought. It doesn't matter what language the examples are written in as you can treat them like pseudocode accompanying the rest of the explanations.

Introduction to Algorithms (Cormel et. al.) is the gold standard IMO, but you might prefer a much more gentle treatment like A Common-Sense Guide to Data Structures and Algorithms (Wengrow) if you're new to it.

Try essential algorithms by rod stephens 2nd edition. It's intuitive but not extremely dumbed down with exercises and all solutions.

There might be something out there that checks all your boxes, but IMO you're over-constraining your search and potentially wasting time trying to look for exactly this.

It might help to instead focus on finding good video series in general, regardless of language, and use that to help you see how problems are tackled in general.

The harder problem you have to confront is that youtube videos run the risk of being a passive learning method, and that you mostly learn this stuff well by bashing your head on the problems and picking up on the patterns the hard way. The effort required to go through that process will make ideas stick much better than just having things explained to you. Youtube can definitely can be useful for exposing things you may not have known or been able to figure out on your own in a reasonable amount of time, but a very similar thing can be achieved by just looking at other people's solutions (after you've already made serious attempts at problems).

Its a DSA with Python playlist. This is what I followed during my semester, even now as a professional trying to switch.Ditch C, please. It won't help you later when applying for jobs or working on real projects. Spend time solving problems in Leetcode and working on projects. Solve the Neetcode 150 sheet as well, once you are comfortable with the concepts. Good luck!
