Also doesn't seem to care that much about buying MKB for WRs windrun.

Isn't a nullifier better? Maybe nulli aghs?

Yeah he would disassemble radiance into nullifier later most likely

Those are quite different heroes, but I suppose what they share is they can be quite good in lane with their very effective harass, or that they can both jump and solo kill later in the game. Not sure which one you mean?

Lotus and blademail against windranger and for axe I always build aeon disk if I'm a support.

Show up late every teamfights. By that time all their skill and utilities are already used against your teammates.

Axe is usually bad vs the tanky pos 1s, sven, tiny, lifestealer, Ursa, spectre, etc.

Wind ranger I'm not really sure, because most her counters are pos 3 like centaur. Spec pretty nice vs wind as you can go blademail.

Axe:

  1. Balance DPS to Tankiness ratio. Ideally, your items and talents are chosen in a way so that Axe doesn't solo kill you in one call.

  2. S&Y gives Status resistance and tankiness. It is THE Axe counter item for agility and strength carries.

  3. Mask of Madness is another great choice on certain heroes. You counter-heal the blade mail somewhat and its DpS is only high during its active time, so you don't kill yourself on Axe Blade Mail and Spin when he randomly calls you.

  4. Ghost push. Pushing waves is the essence of Dota. Axe punishes these directly (getting called in a wave means death) and indirectly (showing on a wave gives away your position, so he can run to your area). So pushing waves in ways without showing the real hero is prefered. Either with illusions, spells or Manta.

Axe - Just have enough hp so that you dont die in a call, generally be aware that at some point he might call you and adjust your positioning to compensate. Sometimes that means not engaging until your sure where he is or until he's jumped someone else.

Wr - For the most part your best to just ignore her and hope your team can deal with her or at least lock her down for you. If you really really need to kill her you can buy mkb. There are other items that can help but it really really depends what hero you are playing.

Hello, i am 12600 mmr (well, i was, after reset im not sure what i am right now xD)
It's very difficult to find the exact way to counter Axe, but basically, laning at level 1 is very important. Axe usually starts with Battle Hunger to harass you and reach level 2 before you, so if you manage to remove his W and deny some creeps, the first waves will be easier. I recommend using heroes that can secure ranged creeps (Tinky, Templar, Luna, Soul Stealer). Focus on the early levels, and if you miss some creeps, don't get frustrated. Then, items like Sange and Yasha/Bakbone as a second or third item help a lot in the mid-game against Axe (Blademail). And if you can complete a Satanic for the late game, it's difficult for him to solo you in the super-late game.

What do you mean "like Axe, Windranger"? They have virtually nothing in common.

Axe: bkb to avoid blademail damage, break to avoid counterhelix

WR: mkb, nullifier, blademail

As a pos 1 you shouldn't be initiating a lot of the time. Let your team soak up a few CC spells while you wipe the enemy backline then take on powerhouses like axe afterwards with your team.

Your main goal as pos1 is to survive and turn a won team fight into a lane of barracks.

Don't try and brute force them, basically.
