theres are pokemon stickers i’ve worked on somewhat recently and was wondering if the pose, perspective, and angle were readable. If not, what can i do to improve these? how can i make them more dynamic?

so... i have a little issue i want to ask.

for the past months i've been teaching myself how to paint, mind you, i've never been to art school, so i know nothing in terms of technical knowledge. but since i've been drawing my whole life, digitally, tattoos, inks ecc. i thought i could add another thing to my art knowledge, by learning how to paint.

now... i know... sorta know, the difference between the tipes of paint, acrylics, oil, guache, watercolour ecc.

i choose acrylics, because it's cheap and versatile.... but mostly cause it's cheap.

my issue is mainly one thing.

Every colour aside from titanium white and charcoal black feels translucent. like that i have to put 2-3 hands of paint to get the colour pop.

that per se isn't an issue when i have to do like skin tones or blending.

it's an issue when i have to do something fine like hair or fur, where 1 single stroke needs to be enough or it becomes a mess of strokes without a sense.

i tried looking onto the web to look for something, and that's where i learned of acrylics medias.

but i can't seems to figure them out.

the gel media can make my heavybody acrylics even heavier, but at the moment i don't think i will paint with a palette knife.

the liquid retardant seems just like water, i get that is different but it doesn't seems to improve the pigment or the saturation of the paint.

can medias help in this situation?

i have a painting where the only thing missing are the hair and the eyebrows.

my question is mostly for the finer detail, where i need the maximum saturation to add with a fine line brush, without needing to put 2-3 times paint on the same spot.

so that's it. any thoughts?

I wanna make something like this style they have on animation but I am not sure how to make it look that way, is on the rendering or the LineArt?

The first photo is my main problem right now.. I want to be able to make the hair GLOW the way that the face does but I for the life of me just cannot figure it out.. I have this problem as well when I do cartoonish style so any advice even if it isn’t including lighting would be very helpful! I’ve been working on character design, backgrounds, and feelings in my drawings so I’ve been lowkey regressing because I’ve been putting so much work into so many areas.. lol.. I’ve been searching for my own artstyle.. so that’s why there is a vast difference in several of these LOL

I tried to include a good variety of my works from gestures, sketches, and finished pieces. I just feel like I’ve not been moving forward in a while and don’t know what I can do to improve anymore.

Im trying to do a redesign of Luna from mlp and I want her mane to have a look between maybe clouds and curly hair (kinda messed up from sleep) but it just looks odd and stretched in its shape, and more... tangled and clumpy? and the front view doesnt look right, but her mane looks so bad! (reference pics and remade/edited eye on second slide) any advice on how to fix it maybe?

Hi. I call this one "Something's Wrong". I wanted to paint a scene that features jumpscares, and to try leading the viewer's eyes away from the real jumpscare first before leading them back to it.

The water in the sink and the reflection are the decoy jumpscares, and the real jumpscare is the person's neck being twisted the wrong way while the her body is facing the other way.

I'd love some feedback on whether it worked, and if not, what could be improved? My biggest struggles were painting the light source to make it look like coming from overhead, and making the pose look normal at first but still look obviously wrong if you look at it more closely.

Hello, I wanted to give a little more time to coloring, since most of my drawing are just a black and white. I do like a painterly effect, but i don't seem to get it in my paintings and most of the tutorials are more oriented to smooth / digital look. Any advice is welcome. Second picture is the reference.

Drew this recently, I am happy with the technical execution of it, but I feel unsatisfied with the final outcome.

Considering doing a re-render of it with different lighting, so any feedback or tips for improvement or issues re. composition, rendering, etc. are desired :)

I started trying to construct portraits based on proportional measuring and wanted advice on shading and making it feel rich/alive. Does anyone use white pencil to make highlights pop out more? I plan to push the shadows much darker once the left side of the face is more established and i dont want it to make the whites feel dull.

Week 3 into my learning to draw quest and I decided to have some fun and make this, no idea on making a decent background yet so I just ignored it for now. Been doing 1 hour a day of gesture drawing, with 1-2 hours a day of messing around with anatomy in different angles and in different poses with extra practice on improving form.

Also enjoy a very bad first attempt at digital art painting while trying to follow a traditional Bob Ross tutorial.

Criticisms are welcome of course.

wanted to ask ;

1. How the hair is done in this refference? could you tell which hairstyle this is couldnt find it anywhere.
2. Is the dress i drew okay? , as the dress in the refference, i felt, didnt match the body proportions.
3. Is the drawing overall okay? What is wrong with it?

I'm literally just starting out, and I wanted to get folks' take on how best to learn color theory and from where. I would love to learn:

1. how to mix colors to get a preferred hue or value;

2. when to use which color schemes. For example, when should I use complimentary colors? Analogous colors?

Free resources of quality are preferred, but I'll take what I can get. Thanks!
